Beyond the Gates, Brandon Claybon, Colby Muhammad, Daphnee Duplaix, Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Karla Mosley, Arielle Prepetit, RhonniRose Mantilla

In place of an original episode of “Beyond the Gates” on Monday, January 19, which also marks the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, CBS will broadcast the daytime special, “Beyond the Gates: Inside Fairmont Crest,” in the show’s regular time slot.

According to the network, the special will “pull back the curtain on the show,” featuring cast commentary as they relive their storylines from the just-concluded season one, including all the explosive affairs, shocking cons, and family secrets.

Cast members taking part in the special include Brandon Claybon, Colby Muhammad, Daphnée Duplaix, Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Karla Mosley, Arielle Prepetit, RhonniRose Mantilla, Ben Gavin, Jen Jacob, Kenjah, Alex Alegria, Colby Muhammad, Jibre Hordges, Ambyr Michelle, David Lami Friebe, Sean Freeman, Timon Kyle Durrett, Marquita Goings, Keith D. Robinson, Najah Jackson and Jaden Lucas Miller, among others.

Broken up into segments based on storyline and character connections, the special was taped in November 2025 at the show’s Atlanta-based studio.

Check out a preview clip from the special below.

Hosted by “Entertainment Tonight” host Kevin Frazier and comedian Sheryl Underwood (“The Talk”), a similar special aired ahead of the show’s premiere in February 2025.

“Beyond the Gates: Inside Fairmont Crest” airs Monday, January 19 at 2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT. Stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+.

“Beyond the Gates” resumes with all-new episodes on Tuesday, January 20.

Looking forward to his. A much better use of filling those episode gaps than rebroadcasting a random repeat episode. However, that is not the Dupree set... it's Fairmont Crest Country Club.

I corrected the original article earlier, but not before it was picked up by the message board.

All good. No worries. 👍🏻 Thought it might have been the furniture from the Dupree set, but it didn't match. But they are couches I'd love to see in another set... like a shouse, perhaps. 😜

It's not a preemption, at least not in the traditional sense. It's a daytime special dedicated to the show, with the cast appearing throughout the entire hour. Think of it like a recap of sorts. Considering the show will air 238 episodes in Season 2, instead of the regular 250 or so the other soaps produce, they have to fill the gaps where they can. This is better than airing another random repeat episode.

I should add, whether it is 200 or 238 episodes, Beyond the Gates is still producing more episodes in each of its two seasons thus far than The Talk did.

Outside of The View and Live with Kelly and Mark, most daytime talk shows produce fewer than 200 episodes per season, with several weeks of repeats scattered throughout the year, primarily during the summer.

Sure, but I still think it's a bad programing move. It's a holiday where people have the day off and likely to be at home because of the cold weather, paying off holiday expenses, no planned festivities, etc. The network could have scheduled a repeat on NYD with the rest of the lineup in repeats instead. Unless that was a test to see how the show did following a B&B repeat.

A special about a Black show - airing on Martin Luther King Day - is not a "bad programming move".

Or - hear me out - they had the option to air the actual show.

okay, you make a valid point, but still. You implied in your above post that viewers would have "no planned festivities". Actually a lot of people go to church events and community events that day. And unofficially it's encouraged as a day of volunteer service.

The special is essentially a recap of what potential viewers may have missed. It would be easier to do this than to air a random repeat that gave no insight into what's happening on the show. This is a smart programming decision, outside of airing an original episode itself. I already explained they have so many episodes they can air for Season 2, so this solves an issue ahead of time.
