Syndicated daytime talker “The Drew Barrymore Show” will take viewers on a behind-the-scenes tour from the set of “Beyond the Gates” on the Friday, January 16 episode.

The segment will feature food and lifestyle contributor Sunny Anderson being shown around the daytime drama’s Atlanta-based studio by cast members Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree) and Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole Dupree Richardson), who will share details about several set locations that make up the fictional Fairmont Crest.

In addition to being honored with a walk-on role, where she’ll make her soap opera debut in an episode slated to air in May, Anderson was also on hand to conduct interviews with some of the show’s cast members, including Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree), Ambyr Michelle (Eva Thomas) and Trisha Mann-Grant (Dana “Leslie” Thomas), which will air in February and March on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

In a clip released by CBS Media Ventures, which produces and distributes the Drew Barrymore-hosted talk show, Anderson discusses her experience with Barrymore and Ross Matthews, and learns some soap opera trade secrets, including how the show is made with input from the costume, hair, and makeup departments, among others.

I'm surprised neither CBS nor any other network has thought to have Ms. Barrymore make cameo appearances on one of their soaps to help promote their shows and hers.
