i hope so. She deserves far more than Will's plank-like acting. I know y'all hate her, but I think she's one of the best younger actresses on soaps, right now. She's doing amazing with the garbo material she has to work with.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread

I'm jealous of those who got to see the Karen Wolek trial and that testimony live. I get goosebumps every time I see the YouTube clip. History in the making. So much so that I went out of my way to find it, decades later. Judith Light, the talent that you are. She is simply amazing in these scenes and has so much range as an actress.
I will never forgive OLTL for what they did to Marty's character toward the end of her run. She had so many layers, at first. I started watching OLTL after her gang rape, and I liked that she got to be raw, messy, complicated while still being a victim. In between my GL binge, I started a Todd Manning one, and I wasn't mad at Marty at all for not exonerating him of the hospital rapes. Why should she have helped him?
But then it got weird after she and Todd became quasi-friends. The real insult is when they made her crazy over John McBain. Marty/Susan deserved so much better. But for a time, I really loved that Marty got to be more than just a paint-by-numbers heroine.

ARTICLE: Michael Roark Exiting ‘Days Of Our Lives’

Michael Roark, who made his “Days of our Lives” debut in October 2025 as Jeremy Horton, is set to exit the daytime drama series on Wednesday, April 29.
While details on what leads to his exit have not been announced, fans can at least look forward to seeing his character continuing to interact with the Hortons and his ex, Abigail Johnson (Stephanie Klein), among others.
Before arriving in Salem, soap fans might remember Roark for his role as Travis Crawford on “The Young and the Restless” in 2016, where he was romantically involved with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), whom he met after she began frequenting his bar, Hank’s Dive Bar. He later became an employee of Newman Enterprises, though the job didn’t last after several of his lies became public.
Other credits for Roark include appearances in episodes of such shows as “9-1-1” and “NCIS: Los Angeles,” as well as a starring role playing Colton Donavan in the Passionflix original series “Driven,” which also featured “Days of our Lives” star Charles Shaughnessy (Shane Donovan) and alum Casey Diedrick (ex-Chad DiMera). The series ran for just three seasons and produced 16 episodes.
More recently, Roark starred in the Passionflix original “The Black Dagger Brotherhood.” The six-episode series is based on the paranormal romance books by author J. R. Ward.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's

Thanks @Paul Raven for the details on FC. Odd to know that CBS scheduled new episodes on holidays like Christmas and NYE. I believe Knots also had new eps air on Thanksgiving New Year’s Day as well. Then again, perhaps for some watching FC on Christmas was perhaps a nice excuse/escape from real family chaos lol.

Primetime Soaps

It was short-sighted of CBS to axe Executive Suite so quickly. Most soaps take a while to "build" and really take off.
Dallas and Dynasty both had tepid ratings in their first seasons.
I think ES might have made it if given more time for viewers to find it, although IMHO, either W.E.B. nor Beacon Hill stood much of a chance after their weak writing became apparent.

Family (1976-1980)

In my heart, I would like to believe that the dearth of character-driven series like Family on TV today was what ignited the emotional response to Heated Rivalry. Fans of intimate, nuanced character dramas are not necessarily satisfied with a steady diet of generic action/adventure/sci-fi/supernatural/comic-book material. I crave to see literate, mature series more often .

A shame Executive Suite failed the way it did because it sounds so good/interesting to me at least. Strange thing is that aired on CBS on Friday nights—just 3 years later Dallas would be dominating in the same timeslot.

I hope the official DVD releases of PP will eventually continue. As far as I can tell, they have been discontinued, which almost always means they are dead in the water, but occasionally axed TV-series releases do get picked up by another company. Fingers crossed.

I wouldn't mind this plot twist.
The Liz/Dante chem testing scene was cute. Nothing special but cute. I still want LiRic, but I also like Liz having options.
Gio and Emma are great together. I really love that she doesn't have to be dumbed down to be with him.
It feels like they've abandoned Joss as Sydney Bristow. Or at the very least, she's not shoved down our throats every day. Carly's screentime is also scaled back, making her easier to like/tolerate.

Like I said, David’s Edward was a rascal!
I think part of the issue was Lewis was clearly having difficulty his last era on camera at the show after just doing voice overs. His scenes with and about Tracy when Jane was leaving in 1993 had more weight to them than anything Ingle accomplished with that relationship, but Lewis was ready to go before he came back. IIRC Monty during round two lured him back to being on camera.
I get why they recast, and I thought Ingle did solid work selling the story with Mary Mae early in his run. His regrets with Bradley and stepping out on Lila again. He had an increasingly fragile Anna Lee, which made scenes between them a delicate balance, which also did him no favors.
He eventually blended in well with the Q’s, he just felt more like a curmudgeon than an actual character. But by then the Q’s were a collection of people throwing catchphrases at each other than actual characters.
