That man is one more contrarian reply... before installing grindr.

LOL - I'd be into that storyline :P

Gosh, the family has to get tested now - I'm assuming one of the grandchildren will be carrying it :/

Great first NYE episode for BTG! They really did the holidays well in their first year.

Today's episode was good overall. Could have done without Derek but I didn't find him and Ashley quite as annoying today.

The cancer reveal to Dani and Nicole was great. This story is going to have repercussions for a while. Having Dani's thoughts go directly to Bill seemed odd, though it will be great drama for Dani/Andre as she leans on Bill because of the girls. Did they say what kind of doctor Kial is? I'd love for him to be involved in Anita's story and have that bring Nicole and Kial closer together.

Shanice/Ted was great. I liked that Ted shot down Leslie and bringing him onboard with the clinic. Ted calling her out for naming it after herself only for it to be her alias was hilarious. Are they really going there with Leslie/Joey? I think she needs to stay far away from that mess and I have no interest in seeing her in that storyline. Keep her with Marcel.

Kial is supposed to be a traveling orthopedic surgeon.

I was curious how they would celebrate the holidays and they did a really good job. American soaps are all about celebration and keeping things warm during the holidays and they succeeded at that. The backdrop of Anita's cancer diagnosis was well done and a good teaser for season two.

I thought New Years was more successful than Christmas because they were able to use all of their locations to maximum effect. I loved the different New Years parties and how full each one felt. We also got to see a good number of the cast which was nice.

I know soaps don't really have seasons but I get the vibe that we are about to witness a season two glow-up. I've enjoyed the first season and have seen many improvements but I just feel like they're going to explore in season two. So many things that have been teased interest me. I look forward to the one year anniversary and hopefully an added comfort now that they know they're here to stay.

I enjoy petty details and was completely elated that Nicole forgot about Carlton, lol.

The music cutting off saved Derek from embarrassment.

I love how this show actually celebrates holidays.

I do too. Being a core-family kind of soap opera, I think we will get great holiday episodes as long as MVJ is in charge. Maybe in 2026 we will also get a Juneteenth celebration and a 4th of July picnic.

I've been watching soaps for more than 60 years, and I've always loved the holiday episodes. But I don't want the holidays to be silly stand-alone fantasy episodes. I want the plots to be acknowledged and moved forward a bit, along with the good family times and the revelry. This year, BTG has done a great job with holiday celebrations!!

Same. Nothing felt forced or unnatural about them. That P&G influence was there.
