Brenda came back asking Sonny to move with her and be together and talked about her letter that Sonny burned. Honestly a Sonny/Brenda spawn from that letter could always be incoming. But..he said he love Connie/Kate and told Brenda now isn't the time for them. Left it very open, but Sonny totally chose Konnie over Brenda lol. Wild.

Yes.

Sonny was really into Kate/Connie and she was mid-breakdown at that point. In my mind the timing wasn't right to leave town with Brenda, but if watching what happened on screen it does seem like he chose Konnie. He did make out with Brenda before she left so Sonny was still keeping options open lol.

I don't think Vanessa was that keen on the Michael story tbh. Hence why Frank has rumored to call her difficult and part of the reason she's never been back.

Ingo getting Dancing with Stars made him have to leave immediately after about 2 episodes. I am assuming she was pitched the idea of Jax/Brenda getting a HEA and it all blew up due to scheduling.

Really? Idk. They had pretty much gone all in on Sonny and Brenda again for a number of years by then, and I felt Vanessa had as well in print.

I thought the quickie Jax thing was just another classic Carlivati bit - bring back the other partner vs. the fated couple in an offscreen insta-reunion/marriage/whatever for some very artificial, quick drama. He did the same thing with the awful, awful, awful Scott/Laura returns that year, where they had somehow yet again gotten back together after all the shít he'd pulled, were engaged and then got married in a courthouse hallway, with Genie wearing a gigantic tablecloth and looking like she was facing the South American firing squad from the end of Soap.

That marriage lasted about three seconds and served no purpose other than to push drama for a LNL reunion Ron wanted but Tony was never going to play. I am still infuriated about all of it.

Hmm..I thought Ron was probably all in on dumping Brenda/Jax together with a HEA, while she was going to still be longing for Sonny. I thought it was all designed to make Brenda look like a wishy washy whore, but Jax/Brenda were the arc. He wanted to put a pin in it and move on to possibly revisit later.

Vanessa was all in on Sonny/Brenda at this point, but she seemed to have a good relationship with Ingo back then. It made way more sense to pair her with Jax then it did to randomly fake sleep with Michael.

I suppose I could see that. He did something similar with Todd and Blair re: Tomas from OLTL, but had Tomas (who was purely a HEA spoiler for T&B) disappear before she could marry him offscreen in Llanview which kept the absentee triangle going. And Ron would've likely continued that string indefinitely with Blair going in and out of PC but with other obstacles to keep her and Todd apart, had events not intervened.
