Yeah lol this is the perfect example of writing to the actor's strength, he did that big dumb look perfectly, that was right up his alley.

I'm buying that Nick would have held  onto the tube as it all happened so fast and he would have been in shock.

However, it would have been more effective if just as the policeman returned Nick became aware of the tube and dropped it, with the policeman witnessing that.

As for another back from the dead, that tired trope has gone to another level. In the past it was used when a body was never found and we  could possibly believe the character survived.

Now we see deaths onscreen and are expected to believe that the character is still alive.

Y&R has done this with Phillip, Diane, baby Eve and now Matt. Am I missing anyone?

Along with twins for Cassie and Hilary.

And yet they still kill off characters for short term shock, or in the case of Damien, Chance and Cole-no reason at all.

Would've made tons of sense. You would've instantly tied Tamara and Roger's characters to beloved Sharon and still had them do heinous sh*t, which we know he's about to have those 2 do anyway. And it can easily be tied to them being bitter that Sharon (even though she started from humble beginnings) struck it big. Their father could've been an unsavory character and given JG's obsession with Ray Wise, you could've just cast him in that new role. I am just over these old, tired, burned out writers getting paid 6 to 7 figures to compose story and they can't even do that effectively. It's not that hard to research the show's history and compose a bible. 

@BoldRestless, your post from earlier is spot on about JG! So spot on that I am over here cackling about how true it most likely is. 

And the return from the dead trope needs to cease on daytime.

Very much so. It has me seeing so much red...and I'm a Shick fan...that if it wasn't for the wedding in a few weeks, I would just stop watching again...which I stopped when they gave all of Damian's storylines over to BF's Cane AND kill Chance. I guess this is what it is like to hatewatch?

Are they going to say that Matt got plastic surgery...again...or will they not address that? If he has gotten plastic surgery is he the first soap character to get face-altering plastic surgery twice?

The Ashley story I actually found quite good. I was also a big fan of Tucker and Ashley as well.
