So much for Billy Flynn's plot lifting Y&R. Now they're throwing the kitchen sink of unemployed soap vets with Tamara, Roger etc.. but it's not going to work as long as Kent/Griffith are in charge.

BTG is in trouble. It had such a messy, weak plot line in the beginning months (and still problematic) with very poor casting choices for some major roles; they lost the chance to keep those initial viewers coming back in the early weeks. And running repeats in the first year is just another nail in the coffin. I give it Season 2 possibly Season 3 but with BB and YR so weak, plus MVJ is not a great HW, the show is going to continue to struggle.

I agree with this comment. Aaaand the writing for that week in question was not good. I was not happy at all.

Yikes looks like the Luna show is killing BOLD.

It's unbearable to watch.

The numbers don't really bear that out as Bold did relatively better than Y&R & BTG that past 2 weeks. Unless you think the non-Luna storylines are that much better than the stories on the other 2 shows.

And yet, the repeats (which have to do with the initial order of episodes) have done pretty well.

I do think it hurt the show, at least on Live + Same Day numbers. Since the first week of repeats aired, BTG hasn't had a demo increase independent of Bold. It has been almost 3 months of that now, leading me to speculate that a good chunk of the new audience fled - at least watching on the same day - and some of those viewers were replaced by traditional CBSD viewers.

I don't think the reasoning behind the order number causing repeats makes sense. If the show was cancelled after its second order, there's no reason it has to end at a certain time. It could end on a Tuesday and CBS can slot TPIR or LMAD reruns or whatever. I'm not a viewer, but it was unfair of CBS to do that to a new soap.

It may be doing the best of the CBS soaps, but their demographics took a nosedive. They're not bringing in viewers for the Luna nonsense. Bold really doesn't have anything new to offer. All their stories are a continuous repetition, and they aren't even well-written.

The Luna show is pure nonsense. There is no more story to tell with Luna. Also, Will and Electra are very boring characters.

It'll be interesting if we find out the Live + 3 and Live + 7 numbers. As the article said, many people, including myself, don't watch the soaps when they air but later.

I'd give BTG a solid B. I think it's actually doing reasonably well. Every soap has some growing pains the first year, but it's been reliably entertaining for the most part. I'm not a fan of the Joey casino  or Derek/Ashley stories, but I still really enjoy Leslie/Eva and Martin/Smitty.
