You know I could almost see the Rocco thing if he was looking for a mother figure after Sam died and Lulu was still in a coma.  But at this point he's more interested in Britt than his own mother that was in a coma for however many years.  You could almost see the wheels turning in Nathan's head thinking "Who is this person?" lol.

Yes, that's my issue - there's a story to be told, it just has not been told properly as they don't want to make the effort.

This almost feels like trolling but I think they are just tone deaf.

Ric was pretty funny as were the other ladies.  I still think Ava, Alexis, Kristina and Ric deserve better than this wacky story-and yet I am still enjoying it.

Like is he still mad at her for immediately running off to find Charlotte after waking up? Cause they don’t play that at all. He literally just became obsessed with a woman who violated his parents and he legit doesn’t care about how they feel at all. It’s gross.

Lol!  That's ridiculous and so GH.

I don't think he's mad about the Charlotte stuff.  From what I remember it was never brought up on screen by Rocco.  He and Charlotte seem close and it doesn't feel like he's angry at Lulu either.   Rocco doesn't even strike me as a rebellious teen.  The show is legitimately peddling the idea that Britt is his mother.

Like did Britt get mega popular when I wasn’t watching the show? Do the writers really just not give a flying f.uck that this is absurd?

I think she has a fanbase.   I never thought she was anything special, but Frank made her this faux gay icon with snarky comments, gave her the Britch nickname and she got Steve Burton to take off his shirt.   In the recent era I would say she was popular, maybe?

She certainly would be on any top 100 GH character list.  Maybe top 100 of the last ten years lol.

She has a fanbase. Not a large one. The Steve thing is the only reason she's back.

I’ve even checked other parts of the web and they’re confused why not only they’re treating her like some second mom to Rocco but why literally every line out of her mouth is just being a bitch to every single character no matter who.

This hard sell is the worst part of Frank's usual M.O. and it's gonna bite KT in the end. Already is. GH fans by and large are just not here for it, especially not with a couple or core characters like Dante and Lulu. They're an afterthought a lot of the time and it's crazy. That and her behavior will finish her off.

I’m sure the show will write Lulu and Dante completely in the wrong at being upset their stupid dumbass of a kid is at “family dinner” with the people that literally stole him. Wasn’t Frank at the helm of the show for this story in the first place? Did Britt or Obrecht even pine away for Rocco in the last decade he’s been back with his actual parents let alone the extra years due to SORAS?

This “family dinner” would be enough for me as Lulu to say screw the truce with Brook Lyn and slap her again 😂

No.

I think if they chose a lane with Britt, it would help - either have her be the blunt anti-heroine or have her suffer and have a secret. You can't really go between her quiet anguish over her "son" and then have her go bitch at Lucas for washing his hands of Brad. She's not Dorian Lord. At best she's Krista Tesreau Tina Lord (KTs unite!).

There's clearly a lot of the canvas Frank and the writers feel exhausted with, so maybe someone with a heavy presence (albeit a grating one) coming in could shake things up, but it's all just extremely messy and is going to peter out to nowhere.

No.

So once again they’re treating the audience like idiots. I hate that other parts of the show really work for me because these are the kind of the things that made me drop the show for years.

Whose fault is that, though? Frank's the one who keeps every actor who ever brightened his day for over a decade, or anyone he worked with at OLTL. There are dynamic, edgy new characters you could create all-new or bring back. He doesn't want to because it's Uncle Frank's House of Friends.

I still suspect Van Etten is the one heavily enamored of the campy, OTT Obrecht clan - he came up under Carlivati at OLTL, and sure those kind of characters can be fun in the right role on a soap, or in doses or literature (IIRC CVE comes from prose). But these specific characters, on this specific show, are not just a party bus of campy fun for the general audience. Certainly not when supplanting the actual core characters. Which is why I still think this and other issues with Britt's return will all end in KT going again. Followed or preceded by Frank finally grudgingly reuniting Lulu/Dante maybe a year from now, just in time to take one or both of them off-contract.

I definitely put most of the blame on Frank and the writers. There are many characters who could have been written out years ago, as we've discussed. I do blame some on the fans, as attempts at deemphasizing or even slightly changing the narrative for characters like Carly or Sonny leads to complaints or a ratings drop, locking everything firmly back into place.
