I think it can still make good soap. HOWEVER, it should not be a trope that is used to redeem someone we have seen onscreen to be a horrible person.

Oh... you were reacting to my opinion about amnesia... ? That was the "Hmmm" about? LOL... I didn't get that. I thought you were watching the show and seeing something on screen. Well... that's my take. I'm not saying anyone has to agree with it, btw. I think soaps use amnesia in a very cheap way... to me that's lazy storytelling in most cases. It's a plot device that's been done so many times. But different strokes for different folks, right.

BTW, JMW looks simply amazing. The only thing that bothers me a little is that she gives off more mature vibe than her mother in the show. Rebecca Budig has this girlish vibe thing (maybe because of the height) that makes her completely absurd pick for a mother to JMW's Steffy. It's bizarre. I can't take her seriously as Taylor. Sorry.

Very. Doesn't mean I don't agree with you. I am tired of it being used and it's clear it is being used to redeem a character...usually someone the audience don't like. Kinda like the brain tumor soap trope. And that one for sure is definitely overdue.

I just also feel that it can be used well. Like when it's the case of a fan fave actor/actress that left a show and been gone for years. And then they come back. It works then because we as soap fans know the characters inside and out and KNOW there is no reason for said character to not come back. And in cases like that, it can work.

I can see both sides of its use.

That brain tumor trope needs to be forbidden with a law or something LOL.

Btw... The show is very watchable these past few episodes. Dare I say it's beginning to slightly improve. The dialogue is still trash, but it's just... not as bad as it was months ago.

10-21

I would say this week is off to a solid start. Not much is going on, but I'm not too bored if that makes sense. It's...fluff.

I think the highlight so far...which I mentioned earlier...was Steffy's return. The thing that got me into watching B&B regularly again was Sinn. And I can still feel how I feel just thinking about their reunion abroad. One of the last current supercouples. So I was loving it. Of course, she immediately had to deal with the news that Luna is alive. And of course, she made a beeline for her. Side-note...I noticed an edit oops at the start of the Monday episode where it looks like they were in the old version of their cliff house because the following scene introduced a wider angle into another section of the house. I guess JMW pre-taped before the move to the new studio at some point?

I even liked the campness of Luna and the security guard as Luna got a parade of visitors. Good to see Poppy still around and got a little dig in. And of course, I lived for Steffy vs Luna and calling it like it is with what Luna did to Will. And finally, Bill. I think he will be eating crow soon though. Interesting touch-typing Luna's cellmate to what happened to Luna before. I did wonder that at the time as well.

I'm still enjoying the new spacious sets no question. It's becoming more of a highlight for me than the writing.

And yes, sometimes it is funny watching Crew and it just reminds me of his father at times.

Did y'all see the ratings. Bold is getting nearly 3 mil. Brad Bell will never change anything writing wise. We are doomed. 😂😂😂

Very. I am sooooo over it.

I agree. Like I said the other day...I like everything about the Luna storyline actually EXCEPT for Luna. lol.

Decided to tune in today and trying to figure out why Taylor is making googily eyes at Deacon.

Dr. Taylor violated every aspect of her oath. Those scenes between Taylor and Deacon were actually hilarious because the dialogue was so absurd.

Before getting into his lines, Sean Kanan almost broke. You could see him stifling a laugh because as Deacon he had to ask Taylor, "But how are YOU, Dr. Hayes?" He then had to go into Ridge leaving her "over and over and over."

I could not stop laughing.

The whole thing is ridiculous.

There should have been a scene of Liam walking into the jewellery store to buy the engagement ring and everyone shouting his name like they did for Norm at Cheers.
