But the BIGGEST CLUE was the show's steadfast refusal to show Hayley's point of view at any time.  We know that the "A-List Characters" on the show are Dani and Nicole.  We were constantly given a point-of-view from Leslie (the demon who broke-up Nicole's marriage).  Leslie's been everywhere, telling us exactly what she thinks about everyone and everything.  On the other hand, aside from an occasional movie night with Caroline, there's been ZERO insight into what Hayley is thinking.   Posters here on the board have even commented about it:  "For someone who opened the show and is now married to Bill, we know NOTHING about Hayley.  No family, no friends, no discussions with herself in the mirror.  Zilch.  The writers have really dropped the ball here."

Seemed pretty clear that was an intentional choice, and they'd be dropping the bomb on us eventually.  I assumed all along she was stealing from the college fund Bill established for her "pregnancy ruses".  There was so much discussion about the college fund (a rarity to hear that discussed on television) and Bill's large deposits to the growing education fund, and I always suspected that's why she was so blatantly faking a pregnancy and a miscarriage. I assumed she'd fake one or two more of those, and then skip town.  The large life insurance policy was a big surprise to me.

And this reminds me of exactly why a twist like that didn't work on Bold. They suddenly decided to write Luna as this psychopath that has been planning all these evil things for months. But Brad Bell forgot one thing - we all saw her perspective (POV) when they were writing her as the good girl. We saw her crying alone in her apartment after getting assaulted. You can't tell me that someone who is faking everything... will be crying alone in her room. Who is she playing the role for? It was an insult to our intelligence as viewers.

So I can give credit where credit's due. I can critize and nitpick to death, but I can also say Bravo when it warrants to be said. MVJ always had a plan for Hayley and we just had to wait and see.

Naomi knows who he is! She literally said "Its you" when he caught her which would not make sense to someone she didnt recognize. Also she was drunk, hence her delayed reaction and almost falling when he caught her.

 

I got the impression that Jacob and Naomi were newlyweds (married 1, maybe 2 years. They'd have last seen each other at least at the wedding, which is where I assume Kat would know him from too if they know each other as both would have been in the wedding party

those are the actors ages, not the characters. Dani is at least 50 with someone half her age. Vanessa is supposed to be around her age too and Joey might be as young as 60. Either way a 50 something year old woman with an older man is not the same as a 20 something with an older woman. The maturity and life experience is a major differene

To be fair, he originally was a cop and I think even had a different name when Elon mentioned him to Anita, so she's probably just as confused as the rest of us.

Speaking of retcons, remember when Randy said he had a wife and kids to Joey? Was that bs? I guess they went the way of Laura's boyfriend, though she's been M.I.A long enough that they easily could have broken up, but a continuous thread wouldn't hurt on continuing soap opera.
