It was only a matter of time since Frank loves his recurrings.

That said...happy for this one.

I enjoy Gati and her condescension for all of Port Charles, but trading out Natalia for Obrecht is like switching berths on the Titanic...

GTMBIAl.jpeg

That pathetic assed Nurses' Ball could have used her this year. That was the least entertaining in years.

Can we please at least hear from Scotty now?

On June 17, 2025, Kin Shriner posted a picture of the door to GH dressing room #44 which is labeled for Jens Austin Astrup. He implied that this used to be his dressing room.
This seemed to be one of his periodic announcements that GH wasn't using him anymore, so I didn't pay much attention, since dressing rooms can be reassigned for any number of reasons.

But then this happened:

On June 30, 2025, Kin Shriner tweeted a video, in which he said that he underwent foot  surgery "one year ago tomorrow" (July 1, 2024), and the surgery had a bad result and he couldn't walk.  He said he later had surgery redone elsewhere, and is now undergoing rehabilitation in Florida.

yes the timing of Ric Lansing's arrival coincidentally lines up with Scotty's absence due to Kin Shriner's medical issues, per Kin's tweet in above post.

See? I love you, but I'm going to have to disagree on this year's Nurse Balls. I had stopped regularly viewing months ago due to how I feel about mostly Frank and CVE's writing and their style period and I came back for that and the 'hype' of whom coming...and...I thought it was surprisingly good soap in spite of myself and the stories. Moments! Cliffhangers...INCLUDING a Friday cliffhanger...with a move that is SOOOO Frank's style. Luckily it's working for him because I've been more or less watching regularly again...or jumping around developing on the bods/bubbles on display. ;) But I digress.

I think you know my love of female henchwomen (and diva hair tosses ;) ) so Dr. O had me from first scene. And I was in love when she came to town for the Nurse Balls with a full diva head turn, shades pulled off. And I know it was silly, but her Cabernet song at the ball is still one of my favorites. So like you, I am looking forward to her being condescending anew.

Yep. But looking at the tweets above...it seem like Frank might finally bring him out of time out.

This is largely more of Soap Twitter nonsense. Scott posted about a year ago that he was outta there, the kind of post he periodically he makes. Then he let it be known that the show tried to get him to work & he declined all offers. Now the actor who plays Kai was assigned his old dressing room & he threw a mini-fit on Soap Twitter. Most people ignore him. If indeed he had a health crisis I wish him nothing but good health coming at him. Meanwhile you cannot count on what he posts. You just have to wait & see. He's like the star in SOAPDISH & Soap Twitter is the mall in NJ.

The stories at the ball were good, but the acts this year looked like they were thrown together by a preschool class. The Gio reveal trickled perfectly throughout, but in past years, the acts didn't look so bad. ( Gio's piece was actually a highlight, and why they need to stick Joss in when Trina performs is a choice that no one needed to make. Her rise to Inch-high not so super spy with Frank's latest unwashed <cough> hero <cough> is bad enough. There is no reason Tabyana can't perform a solo.)

So we are in agreement about the action of the ball. I don't go into watching the Ball expecting much, but this one felt like Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz were drunk on stage at the Tropicana. Liesl crooning a classic would have been a lot better than watching Jenz Sidwell twirling his moustache  and side eyeing the masses.

Okay when you say it like that...lol. I agree. I was actually happy at the reduced appearance of Sidwell honestly because before I stopped watching again, he was all over the place. So him at the ball and sponsoring it, but no slapsticky-ness to show him off just means that Frank had already moved on to his next Flavor of the Month and I felt blessed. :)

Hmmmm Gio and those pants.

But then we got him p*ssing all over Ms. Wu and her turning tail (as if Sellina Wu would run from a tr**l under a bridge...) So he's not getting pushed aside just yet...

Don't get me started. I suspect (off of one scene) that my girl might have fallen foul of one of divas/os of that show and that's why her appearances completely dropped. They were setting up too much for her to believe otherwise. And to bow down to Sidwell? GIRL, BYE.

I love those are his REAL pants in real life, too. Impressed.

I thought this was by far the best Nurses Ball GH has thrown literally in years. And, I have really enjoyed the fact that the show just keeps on keeping on since those reveals. The pace is ... I guess very fast but very heavy duty dramatic & with emotions running so high. I'm almost afraid to say it but I feel like they're showing stakes.
