Yeah I don't get the slagging of Isabella. She was smart and kind and all around lovely. And she loved John a lot. I hope wherever he is he's with her.

Lol.  I don't even really have a reason to hate Isabella-I just do.  She was objectively a very nice character with frizzy hair.  I just don't get the love for her.  To me she was such a short blip on the John timeline and no one would remember her if she didn't die tragically.

I loved her from the moment she and Jack started having scenes in Bayview. It was not about her pairing with John, it was about her helping Jack on his first steps to regaining some of his past better self. I did love her with John, but mostly I loved her for herself, and for helping guide Jack and Jennifer in those early days when they needed their heads banged together.

And I don't really have a reason to dislike Marlena, but I always have going back to 1986. Maybe it is because she was just constantly on and off the show and I never bonded to her, and then once she came back I found her very cold and dull.

I haven't cried yet this week. Last week I started crying when Carrie arrived & just kept on.

Thank goodness Ron is gone or Leo would have been there comforting Marlena and giving the eulogy.

I actually did like Isabella's friendship with Jack/Jen.  I feel like a lot of material was forced on Isabella like Victor being her dad, Bo being her brother, the crazy sister, the insta John love affair-none of it was natural to me.  I HATED Izzy B back in the day, but in a rewatch situation she's okay.  Very pushy with RoJohn about the baby and making a choice between her and Marlena though.  Give the man 10 minutes lol.

And we obviously have reached an impasse re Marlena.  Loved her from the first second I saw her lol.  I don't ever find Marlena dull, but I can see how people could find her cold.  That's just Deidre Hall I think.

Izzy B also had a great platonic friendship with John.  I still remember the scenes where she had to tell him she was sick and that unlike him, she wouldn't recover.

Isabella and John never had a platonic friendship.  John and Marlena probably had a more "platonic" friendship in the 90's lol.  John and Isabella were literally married when she got sick.  They weren't buddies.  She had just given birth to his child.

I think you mean Jack. And yeah those scenes were great

Her telling John she had cancer, and apologizing over and over, broke my heart. And rewatching it, hearing John say she could beat pancreatic cancer and her telling him it was incurable... well that hits different now

Oh, Jack would make a lot more sense lol!!

I felt the cancer story moved so quickly.  I know it's because Staci Greason couldn't work out a deal with Days, but it felt fast.  And, yeah, it hits different now.

Leo: I know I look beautiful in my rainbow funeral attire. I'm funny, hot, write for a newspaper and flirt with every man in Salem and I also do eulogies!!😁😊☺️

Just rewatched Paul’s eulogy… especially the ending. So touching. Christopher Sean did a beautiful job - kudos to him

“But to all the times that I was lucky enough to have with my dad, he made me feel loved. He made me feel accepted. So every time I see a rainbow up high or a baseball in the sky, I’m gonna think of you, Dad. I love you, Dad. I can’t wait to play another game of baseball with you again,” Paul said as tears streamed down his face. Paul returned to his seat, and Andrew kissed his hand.

I, too, loved Isabella, beginning, middle & end & in a way I think I've always given Brady some grace because he was all we had left of her, if that makes any sense.

LOL. I've always loved her, not necessarily liked her.

I don't even want to consider how awful it could have been!

I just finished watching today's DAYS & it's the best day so far of all of the past few weeks. And, Peter Reckell was the best of the day although the letter Eric read from Sami was so wonderful & written with such care & attention to history & insight into the at times rocky relationship between Sami & John. Brady brought humor by doing impressions of different John eyebrows & his impressions are dead on. Probably a controversial opinion & not one I expected to have but Dee has been the weak link. Possibly just too hard for her. Overall, though, so well written, directed & acted. Glaring in their absence: Julie, Maggie, Will. All present last week but MIA this week.

EDIT TO ADD: About Deidre: I believe she is intentionally playing herself very stiff & close to the vest, as if she's afraid if she doesn't she will break into a million pieces & not be able to stop absolutely going crazy

And, yes, I am weeping again.

Yes, I knew that  she had been on prior. I was just speaking about today. But, never a problem to go over info!!!

Oh, I see, I erred in saying this week/last week, so especial thanks for the fix.

Andrew has to be there for Paul, *if* we see a wedding.
Hope had to be there for Bo for Bo's illness.

None of the spouses of the other returns were shown over past two weeks.
We saw:

Ciara but not Ben.
Eric but not Nicole.
Shane but not Kimberly.
Carrie but not Austin.
Will but not Sonny.
Anna but not Tony.

Regarding Tony:

Spoiler

Although Thaao had previously tweeted that he returns this week, Thaao tweeted yesterday that he just got word that Tony's return does not air until later in June.

Obviously they wouldn't have Nicole, due to Ari Z's legal situation still unresolved.

But my point is, at least they were consistent in having all the spouses missing these recent weeks,
unless they were needed for Pandrew and Bope.

Of course - Jack, Jen, Julie, Maggie, Will, and Sami should’ve been in the memorial. No question.
