See ya, Natalia.

Seriously, what a lame duck this character was. Nothing they gave her to do even worked in the slightest way. I won't miss her, but hopefully her death will lead something that has huge ripple effects across the canvas.

Yep. Pretty much.

Sidwell will be next. Even if it's by January of next year.

I genuinely don’t understand what the purpose of Natalia was. And such a weird exit. The character didn’t even have to suck, they actively chose to make her suck and then gave up on her. I thought Eva was good today though.

It's honestly just what Eva said it was: The character was conceived as a heavy for the Kristina/Blaze storyline and was extremely effective in that role early on IMO. She was profoundly unlikable and could've stirred up real trouble in a short run, I thought her clashes with Kate Mansi were strong. Then FV once again fell in love with having a soap name and tried to make her viable and it insulted the audience and their intelligence.

It's funny how ELR's take is very blunt and straightforward on why the character never worked and FV is still waxing about her 'successful extended arc'.

I know, right?   I respect ELR for being honest about it all being awful, and that the fans hated Natalia.  She understood it.

The best the character was written was when she was awful and they just played in our faces and tried to redeem her. Then they gave her more family but foolishly made her just as homophobic against her son after trying to redeem her. It’s all wild.

I think Eva is a very seasoned vet and won't put this job at the top of her resume.  She seems like an intelligent woman and will probably call this a loss.  The, welp, this character always sucked take by her makes me like her more.

This is honestly just what I needed after my last year of hell. Noted Bigot Natalia groveling for Sonny's imaginary love while Sonny/Mo ponders the added cost of her Uber Black.

Van Hansis is real lucky Ryan Carnes allegedly went antivaxx/hippie/whatever and didn’t want to sign a new contract. Although I’ll admit it is refreshing to see clearly LGBT actors becoming much more common in these roles/stories, and they're both decent and work well together. I do think Hansis also has great rapport with LW, Becky, etc. even if he's not my ideal choice in the role. I wouldn't dump him or anything atm, but it would depend on how much heavier story he could carry. I thought he was a comical mess hamming it up after Sam's death.

It's a shame Portia is clearly the disliked heavy in all her stories when BK is the only one in this tired love triangle that can act.

The one time Mo's disinterest actually works.

He's literally wondering if he can write this off as a tax deduction.

My best screencap since lascivious Fluke lusting after a deeply uncomfortable Chad and Ryan Carnes' Lucas with his arms around them.

Well, now I think we all need to see that.

Van can be a lot and is also not my first choice for Lucas, but I think he's likeable and fun.  It doesn't read Lucas as a character IMO yet it doesn't bother me at the same time if that makes sense.  He never seems bored or phoning it in which is half the battle on GH at this point.

What’s wild is at one point Mo actually seemed invested in the non pairing. He and Eva had a bit of chemistry.

It was way back in the Primetimer/PTV archives. I'll see if I can find it. Chad's expression is hysterical.

Meanwhile, these are a thing of beauty. I have absolutely been drunk texted like this.

Carnes is a better player for stronger stories, but as they are never going to give Lucas those, Hansis probably is OK. Carnes also reminds me a little more of other actors already on the show (especially Rory Gibson), while Hansis is more in his own lane.

When he was on ATWT I always thought he was kind of pissy, and a pill. He seems warmer now, somewhat, which helps a lot in scenes with characters like Carly or Liz.

I don't think he had any even idle interest once the writing got into Natalia's bigoted comments on the recording tbh. Which is ironically right at the time when FV started trying to save the character in the most tone-deaf way possible lol. It became clear by fall Mo just did not want Sonny to touch her, because it was taking too long (by Sonny standards). Like, I'm pretty sure Sonny was more affectionate with Angel Sorel in 2001, a story and pairing Mo publicly and proudly tanked.

I thought they might push harder once Natalia became Sonny's heart whisperer early this year, but that died too. I wonder if Mo finally said it's never gonna happen, or if they just needed the money so Eva was out.

I don't think Eva has ever been a very likeable screen presence (Maria was at her best when they allowed her to be harder - I'm one of the few who preferred her spotty second run for that reason). They could have run with that. I think the homophobia even could have gotten a pass from a lot of viewers - it's not like we're watching with tiktok users (the ones who aren't burning Pride flags, anyway). It was more the clear dithering with the character and the DOA material with Sonny that finished her.

The sad thing is I know exactly what Natalia is trying to say because phones in 2008 lol.
