The writing for Lucky/Liz is really erratic.  Is that a ring Lucky has? Are Lucky and Liz even officially dating lol?

I cannot believe what a mess the Liz/Lucky writing is. It all seems like an afterthought and plays like filler.

Liz is written like she's on a ton of pain medication and is in lala land. During the Nurses Ball, she acted "Oh, well" about the Gio reveal. Now she's "Oh, well" upon hearing what Lucky thinks of Kristina cutting the brakes on Rick''s car.

I could see Liz not caring too much about the Gio reveal, but Lucky covering for Kristina almost killing people, herself included, deserves a reaction.  Lucky hardly even knows Kristina.  And the conversation just ended with Lucky going to make dinner, WHAT!!?  Maybe both Lucky and Liz are high on her painkillers lol.

Where is the Monica tribute? And now we have to do a Lesley tribute. Come on Frank. History.

I'm sure he's going to have them - ideally not in a way that is rushed or perfunctory.

Frank does not care about them and resents having to write for at least one of them.

Given the way both Lulu and Lucky are written I can guess.  Do Lulu and Lucky even speak?  Lol

Liz is useful to prop one of Frank's pets when they are failing, I suppose.

It's shame GH loves to do the opposite of what fans want.

I don't think Lulu is written that badly.

Lucky they do seem to have no real interest in.

I wonder if this is another story they have decided to wrap up abruptly as it makes zero sense to have what would have clearly been serious conflict between Liz and Lucky just get shrugged off by her. Maybe the intense viewer negativity toward Kristina got through to them.

Amanda Setton and Rena Sofer was once again really good in today's episode.  As a Lucky/Liz fan, I didn't like their scenes either.  And they are nowhere near a proposal because they haven't been given a real story.

I think the writing is slanted against Lulu.  I don't think there is an issue with the character in general.  I just think Lulu doesn't get many layers or nuance in her writing.  Lulu becomes obnoxious and a bully to Brook Lynn and both characters SHOULD have flaws.

It's tough for me because I feel like this has always been Lulu. She used to be even worse, slut-shaming, verbally abusing other women, and always being written as being in the right. They should let Brook Lynn get dirtier, but I think the material of Lulu digging and being self-righteous, making everything worse even while not intending to do so, but also not being as in the wrong as Dante thinks she is, all makes sense for her. But I don't have as much experience with Lulu as a lot of fans as I just could never stomach her beyond the time she was a mute kid, so I don't have much right to speak.

I have never been much of a Lulu fan either since the JMB days.  I do think Alexa Havins is really a great recast.  When Lulu returned it was at the expense of Sam (no loss to me) but not the best for audience favor, she was barely on screen for weeks after she woke up, then went to run off and put everyone in danger to find Charlotte at the expense of her other child, and finally moved on to this Brook/Dante baby investigation.  Lulu never had a chance to grieve the years she lost, re-bond with her family or her friends, re-integrate herself back into town, or be anything more than a chaos creator.

Meanwhile, Brook Lynn is this poor, innocent victim that's being bullied by Lulu.  I don't think Lulu is right.  I would just like a little more subtlety in the writing.

Oh I agree that they erred in not showing her bonding more with her family and not having this examined more closely. I think if I cared about Lucky or Laura I'd be more agitated. I think the material they have given her (aside from chasing after Charlotte, which was hurt by not focusing more on Rocco's response and just by Charlotte never having a reason to exist) has been OK but certainly not what it could have been.

Yes, the Liz and Lucky scenes were horrible. Kristina better be sent to prison.

I'm already getting tired of BLQ continuing to blame Lois for her mistakes. Yes, let's move this along.

I think Frank probably wanted to try for Jonathan with Kate Mansi. I actually can't knock the idea of a Lucky/Kristina affair or flirtation on paper, as a romantic obstacle to LNL2, but not with the characters in the places they are at present or have been over the last few years. It would be a mistake to do right now and would poison the well.

I think Jonathan probably made it clear when he came back that he wanted what had been promised to him years ago with Elizabeth, and between his not being one of FV's preferred focal leads and Liz being a grudging afterthought if she's not with one of his OLTL stars, I suspect FV was content to leave them where they are vs. where they should be, which is central on the show.

It's like I said a few days ago: A lot of this is how Lulu has always been. But back in the day the issue was that Lulu (and Carly) were deified for it, whereas now it's that Lulu is just used as the heavy because FV has a preexisting favoritism for Setton/BLQ. And that's a waste of a key character and talent, namely Alexa Havins.

I definitely think FV wanted to pair Kristina and Lucky.  Why else would Lucky decide to become a bartender at her stupid bar?  Lucky was a cop, a crusader?-whatever he was doing in Africa and all these years away.   It makes zero sense for him to just be content tending bar for some flakey girl he knew since she was born.  Have him work with Spinelli at PI firm or something.  There were also some scenes with Kristina and Lucky that seemed like the show was leaning in that direction.  I also suspect JJ was extremely unhappy with that idea lol.

As far as Lulu, I certainly don't miss the JMB smug era.  I hate that BLQ looks like a poor, innocent victim being tortured by Lulu at every turn though.

The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
