I agree that the show seems at a loss on how to use Cody, but I don't think that Josh Kelly should be on recurring. In fact, I see him as one of the show's MVPs, since he's one of the very few men on the show who has chemistry with a bunch of female scene partners. If they move a Josh to recurring, it should be Josh Swickard (Chase) whose only purpose on the show these days seems to be telling Brook Lynn how great she is.

I think there's story for Cody and Chase, but it would mean not being fear-based in the writing and not just throwing darts instead of telling stories. They should think of how much they've gotten out of Willow/Drew, which likely never would have happened if not for Mulcahey's brief return, instead of all this bitty, cautious writing (the whole Trina/Kai relationship is another example).

Chase I'd dispose of quickly. He's a little boy. Cody I think still can work, but they keep squandering him and doing something stupid every time the character comes together.

Given the recent deaths of almost that entire quadrangle (not counting Stuart Damon), it should be noted how Rick, Lesley, Monica, etc. were incredibly integral to the show's success and that material still is compulsively watchable on YouTube today. The closest we have to it now is what others have mentioned - the Drew/Willow/Michael saga (formerly with Nina too, til the current team moved her to an antagonist role) which is pretty decent despite the show's worst blunders. But that classic triangle and its scandal keeps paying dividends in stories like the Willow/Drew saga, and that a lot of the other material in that Monty/Marland/Falken Smith, etc. era should be a model for a lot more story.

I'd dump Chase too, but I would also have done a lot more with JJ as Lucky so the show and I have different plans lol.  I get the idea of Brook Lynn and Chase being a stable, cornerstone couple of the show, but they are so boring.

I assume Kelly "kill off Britt, I am gone for good" Thiebaud is back for Steve.  I wonder if they will try her with Cody again though.  I am with @Vee and do think Josh Kelly/Cody have promise.  I have been saying that for years though and he's still wandering around canvas not doing much.

It's funny that the lasting legacy of Mulcahey's last stint on the show is the current Drew. And the reason we have that is because the actor couldn't play grey, which is what I think Mulcahey intended. Drew trying to be grey came off as creepy, and to the current writers credit, they did run with it.

I actually think Cameron did fine with Mulcahey's Drew. The problem was that Korte and Van Etten had no interest in that character played that way or in the pairing with Nina, so we get this total black hat instead. Who also has his uses.

Cameron does well with both iterations of Drew Q IMO - he's not given enough credit for leaning into the smarm - but he could've been more three-dimensional long-term in the original equation last year. And I do think Drew and Nina, as shown under Mulcahey, could've really gone the distance. Something I never thought I'd say about two previously no-hope characters.

I don't know why the show continues to just keep the Nina/Drew secret.  It's not even brought up in conversation anymore.

Definition of: if we do not talk about it, then it did not happen, and no one will mention it.

GH just hates drama.  How long are we going to sit on the secret?  Willow and Drew will be in Washington DC married with 3 more kids before Nina fesses up.

THREE MORE KIDS?! Drew should be dead by the end of the month. 🤐

Yeah.  I was just imagining Willow and Drew off my screen with their stupid kids.

Guza and Geary had so much contempt for Greg's version of Lucky, and for any Lucky who wasn't Luke Jr, he was never going to stay.

I still wonder if they are going to reveal this isn't actually Drew and is Shiloh, as some fans have speculated.

They did a decent job with the memorials for various other characters without tying them to Sonny, but I imagine Carly will play a sizable role. Luckily with Jason and Tracy back they can have more angles beyond Carly and Michael and Sonny.

Yep Geary despised that GV's Lucky was a cop, said something like no kid of Luke's would be a cop 🙄

🤣🤣 They can both go and would not be missed. Michael, Sasha, Wiley, Amelia, and Daisy can be the family they were meant to be.

I'd keep Rory's Michael.  Everyone else can leave.  I still can't get over the name Daisy.

Honestly, I'm kind of geling Rory Gibson and Sofia Mattsson together; I've firmly believed Michael and Sasha should've been paired over Tree (who has way overstayed her welcome).

And Daisy can commiserate with Donna about such piss-poor names. 🤣 Rocco can join, too.

Rocco is an awful name that we don't call out enough.  I do know a Rocco in real life so the name exists.

Daisy is whatever and kind of cute.  It's like a sister name to Violet so I have trauma lol. I just wish Michael would be more intentional with his kid's names.  They feel like someone picked them out of a hat with no reason behind it.
