Cane will definitely be DOA if Dumas turns out to be Cane. Doesn’t make sense and would be a pointless exercise but that hasn’t stopped the JG before from doing pointless stories.

The other theories outside of Cane I have seen floated around is Dumas is John Abbott III, Brad Carlton’s lost son, or that Billy Flynn’s Dumas will be revealed as the real Adam in hiding since Chloe blew him up and Mark Grossman’s Adam has been an imposter.

But any way you slice it, the story has dragged on wayyy too long, the buildup has been severely lacking and it’s not even interesting, mainly thanks to this low-energy writing of JG.

Agreed on Cane. Last week, I said the best way AD could make a serious impact would be if he's Jack/Nikki's *miscarried* son. It would certainly shake up GC and add another layer to Abbott/Newman drama.

The kicker - Victor has known the entire time. Nikki has been far too accepting of Victor's machinations during the past few months. Perhaps, she needs an awaking.

Was it really a toss-off that Jack recognized Nikki's perfume when he entered the train? Or was it a clue that Jack/Nikki will somehow reunite.

Diane has been declawed and achieved her 40+ year goal - acceptance into the Abbott family. SW is far too talented to be a stepford wife. There is a ton of material to be mined - Nick/Victoria/Kyle, etc.

Cane is an outlier. If you're gonna hire Billy Flynn, he has to be directly connected to one of the main families.

Ahead of his debut on The Young and the Restless, Billy Flynn confirms exclusively to Us Weekly that he is, indeed, Aristotle Dumas.

I appreciate the quotes from Billy Flynn.  Thanks for posting!

“Before I started, I was nervous to work with all these people. I was comfortable where I was and I had earned trust and in the people who knew what I could do,” he continues. “[But] everybody here was so great. I remember watching the monitor the first day, and was so impressed by everybody’s talent that I started to get really nervous [again].”

Flynn adds that the fact that there has been so much hype surrounding Aristotle Dumas — the soap has been mentioning the character as a mysterious business tycoon for months, but he has yet to appear on screen — makes it even more “nerve-wracking.”

Flynn also teases that there’s more to the story, comparing his character to “the person behind the Great Gatsby.”

F Scott Fitzgerald?

Why does this sound like the pitch Josh Griffith gave this actor to take the part? 😁

JG seems to take his inspiration from all these great writers but it never translates well into this soap.

I've never been so ready to be spoiled. I'm just not feeling this rollout.

It’s pretty underwhelming. They set this whole thing up like we were supposed to be shocked at the last minute even though it’s been the most predictable thing all along. (It still makes absolutely no sense that Dumas is Cane) but it wasn’t exactly a mystery even from the beginning.

I think JG is trying to capitalize on the fan base of Lane which was pretty popular at one point, but I don’t think it works today like it might of 15 years ago. Not to mention, it’s not even the same actor playing Cane.

Thank you.

I'm happy for BF of course, but there was no need for that character at all and I expect backlash.

As for the direction, well I already said that the whole Dumas story and it being plot twisted into Damian's storyline was unnecessary because the story as is (with Damian as Head of Dumas) was a surprisingly great storyline that could have stayed as is with Damian as the head and still be able to mix it up with Victor, romance Lily, and cause all kinds of drama. So that was all just a waste.

And with that reveal, I don't see a triangle between him, Dumas, and Lily so I guess they will be writing Damian out now. He had more chemistry and potential than what is basically a recast so not at all here for it.
