Now, did anyone AT ALL have it on their Bingo card that Cody KNEW Brook Lynn was pregnant that summer so long ago at boys & girls camps across the street from each other? Talk about surprised?!! Yes, I was. And, he never told Dante. In all these years he kept her secret for her. But, he couldn't wait to tell Anna that Sasha is pregnant with Jason's baby!!

I'd imagine he was upset about Sasha being pregnant, while he had no real emotional investment with Brook Lyn being pregnant.

They did poor Swickford (is that his name? Swickard...?) dirty with that cap.

I wonder if he has lost his alpha podcaster beard as a sign that he and tradwife Brook Lyn are splitting up.

Not to already pile on to the conversations about her attire, but she was dressed today like she was going to do a K-Mart ad with Rosie O'Donnell and Penny Marshall. Lois has a much more fun wardrobe.

Yes, of course. Definitely.

- All these 20-second scenes are on my nerves. None of it breathes.

They really need to get over this mindset that viewers have short attention spans and unless things are constantly changing, they'll switch off.

How about a longer scene that is so intriguing and well written that you will want to stick with it?

Could have had it with Patrick Mulcahey but we aren't allowed nice things.

I would guess they blame the ratings drops in part on longer scenes. I do think viewers can watch longer scenes, but the reports out now of younger people who can't read (even college kids) and can only watch video clips makes me less sure than I was in the past.

It's the TikTok craze; they want things in sixty seconds or less, and it's so off-putting. I want scenes that breathe.

What drives me crazy is everything else is slow burn. Almost every prestige TV show spotlights sparkling dialogue and a slow burn storytelling style. And FV cuts everything up so much that stuff gets lost quite often.

I want to say one thing about Jack Brennan. In an interview MarkT, Casting Director, said that they'd waited 4 years trying to find the right role for Charles Mesure. What that tells me is that he's not just some disposable temporary villain or even good guy. I'm not saying I know exactly what he is, just saying what he is not.

I'm not even asking for 3-minute scenes. I'm asking to extend those 20-second scenes into 40 seconds or a minute. That would be a huge improvement over what we're getting now.

I agree. 20 seconds is obscene.

I agree with you. It sucks that Valentini won't even go a little further. especially in key moments like Laura reuniting with her children. I wonder if he has convinced ABC this is the only way to save money and they don't care enough to disagree.

It is my belief that Disney holds Frank in such high regard that they would go along with him & what he says goes. (I hope I'm wrong.)

Isn't that appalling? And, to continue about short chopped up scenes, I did an edit of 1-30 Germany only & if you add up those scenes it runs 7 minutes, YES, really only 7 minutes total. When I think about it, ... UGH. Frankie, it doesn't have to be all chopped up.

EXACTLY what I'm talking about. It's absolute madness.

It's beyond any sense of going shorter to keep things moving. Soap operas aren't TikTok. Do you know of ANY movies filmed this way? ANY primetime television series? Cartoons for kids do a better job than this.

Next thing we know they'll start turning the shows into 10-20 second max shots... and in the end... it will be like watching a bad reality show. I hate this new trend of not giving moments build up and air to breathe. Absolutely hate it. It cheapens the entire genre.

In the recent past I know there's been talk of 10 minute soaps. 10 minutes long. I fail to see the appeal. I mean WHY? I fear that answer is WHY NOT. And, I'm sure we could enumerate many reasons why not. We already have directors who have no time to direct acting. What comes next?
