Lisa Rinna (“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” “Melrose Place”) is keeping the door open when it comes to a possible return to “Days of our Lives” as Billie Reed.

In a recent interview with Distractify, the actress told the outlet, “Listen, I never say no, really, to anything,” when asked about taking on the role again. She added, “I’m always open to revisiting these characters that I love.”

“You know I love drama,” Rinna continued. “So if it were right, if it felt right, if it made sense. I think I’m always open to it.”

From her interview, it’s understood that Rinna isn’t looking for a full-time commitment right now, and there are reportedly no active plans to revive her “Days of our Lives” character on the series. That said, she did revive the character in 2021 by appearing in the five-episode series “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem” (Chapter One), an original spinoff that aired on Peacock.

That said, Rinna has stuck to her acting roots with her recent turn playing twins in Walmart’s soap opera-esque 10-episode advertising series, “Deals of Desire.”

Launched earlier this month in honor of the Black Friday shopping holiday, Rinna appears in the episode titled “Sister, Swindler” where she portrays twin sisters Faith and Lilith, the latter of which is a long-lost relative who’s been secretly working with Faith’s boyfriend, Victor, to steal her lottery winnings.

Despite being an ad for Walmart, the ability to play the dual roles fulfilled a dream for the actress, who indicated it was “one of the reasons” she said yes to the project, noting, “It’s classic soap opera. And so when they told me to play twins, I thought, ‘Oh my god, yes, I can’t wait.’”

In addition to Rinna, other celebrities appearing in the “Deals or Desire” series include Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill”), Ian Somerhalder (“The Vampire Diaries”) and Taye Diggs (“All American,” “Guiding Light”), among others.

Not to be cruel, but there's really no place for Billie now. I don't ever see Bo/Billie again. Hell, the audience has been waiting for a true resolution to the hanging Bo/Hope arc forever. (I only pray recent events bring a resolution.)

Chelsea (who should still be dead - the baby was DEAD!) isn't on canvas, Austin isn't around, and it's not like Billie and Lucas had a close sibling relationship. I guess she can tangle with her mother, Kate, but Kate is also on the fringes. Unless Billie mixes it up with Roman again and...no. No. No. *shudder* (But hey, it's not like the show shied away from daughters competing with their own mothers. That was a huge part of the Doug/Julie story with Addie and Hope, etc.!)

And, at the heart of it, it wouldn't be Lisa Rinna playing Billie Reed anymore. It would be Lisa Rinna being Lisa Rinna and going overboard with camp, I'm sure. If the show wants to resurrect Billie Reed and tell real stories, there needs to be someone willing to invest in the role, and that's no longer Lisa Rinna. Where is Julie Pinson these days? Pun unintended there. Sorry, Krista Allen's sort of villainous Billie never felt like that same character. (And I say this as someone who wouldn't care if Billie vaporized. Was never a fan, no matter who played her.)

As of now, however, there is really no need for Billie.

I think if they write Billie as something less silly than her being a cop, as happened with Rinna the last time she was in the part, she could make it work, but I agree there's no need for her.

I'd still take her over Julie Pinson.

Krista was the Billie I liked most, but that doesn't seem likely.

Cwikly and Brash made her a cop/ISA agent. Given how much Rinna complained about having to wear that uniform from her early 2000s run, Cwikly would be a much bigger person than me to welcome her back. Though, with how Thaoo Penghlis keeps coming back after all he says about the show, anything is possible.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
