Members Contessa Donatella
Oh, it would have been easy for them to play more beats pre-ceremony! Personally I really dislike it that they didn't wake Bo up & have him there, as well. I would have preferred the real deal Dougie, as well.
Members ranger1rg
I criticize RC's writing a lot, but Doug's death and funeral was long enough. We don't need weeks and weeks of that, even if it's a beloved character who's died. I'm actually glad KA's return was delayed a couple days, giving other returns the spotlight before she got her own. And I've said this before, but SSH was given enough to do. Yes, she's adored and we all love her, but her style of acting is...a choice. Her scenes with Doug did not work for me, and I never got emotional over any of it. I wouldn't even nominate her for these scenes.
Members Contessa Donatella
I certainly respect your informed opinion but I happen to totally disagree. Not that she's not making an acting choice, because she is. But, I happen to like it. I even posted one place: Just go ahead & give her the Emmy now. To me, it was iconic, classic. However, I admit to a bias. SSH as Julie was my first soap crush & I never stopped loving her.
Members j swift
Are we to assume that Justin looked over Shawn-D's divorce paperwork pro bono as a favor, and then Shawn turned around and kicked him in the nuts by refusing to testify for Xander? Members Antoyne
I loved the first Chanel. She had so much charisma onscreen. And honestly they wrote the character as having more personality with her in the role as well. I loved CB as Gabi though the new actress has won me over. We needed a vixen in that age range and her Gabi was perfect for it.
Members AbcNbc247
There were a lot of good scenes today and I like how everything was being built up for Philip and Xander’s court case, in the first part of the episode anyway. I think they went a little too fast in the second part of the episode and I still think the case should have started a little later than now. We should have seen more of the beats being played, especially because so many characters are involved in this. For example, Stephanie’s PR campaign against Xander or Kate keeping the secret about the letter from Roman. And I still say that Alex should have had a part in this as well. I never bought him being so willing to give up everything to Xander and I never will. I was liking Belle in lawyer mode too. She really did seem in her element. Both with Brady and Philip, and in court. But yeah, they really need a proper courtroom set on Days. Philip vs. Xander has the potential to be huge and explosive and I hope we continue to see it. Their scene today before court started was pretty good. JPL seemed to do a better job as well. He didn’t seem as campy and annoying. I also liked the Shawn/Roman scene and how Roman used his own past with John and Marlena in order to help Shawn. And I’m looking forward to seeing what happens between him and Belle and whoever they each get involved with. They belong on the canvas. Btw, I know this is a nitpick, but I really hate the music that they play in the Pub Please register in order to view this content And I liked the cliffhanger ending too. I thought it was a good way to get people to watch tomorrow, and it could also lead to more conflict at some point in the future.
Members Contessa Donatella
On the whole, I agree wholeheartedly. I didn't think that the second half was rushed. And, I don't particularly dislike the music in the pub as much as I pretty much dislike MOST of the music cues the show uses, period. Often, the music they choose seems hokey to me & almost takes me right out of whatever dramatic moment they've just created. It's seemed really odd to me for a long while that I don't care for the music when that is Corday's thing. So, to me, it's not really being nitpicky. I think the show music is a regular item I am critical of. Both Brandon as Shawn-D and Martha as Belle seem so good to me. They just fit. I found it fairly clever that each of them thought the other was gone already & instead each, independently, had decided to stay, both to do jobs. Then, of course, they crossed paths in the Square because no one can go anywhere in Salem without going through the Square. Belle's been good with Marlena, with Shawn-D, with Brady, now also good as an attorney again.Shawn-D's been good with Jada, Belle & with JoshRoman. Nice to have them back where they belong. The cliffhanger I found especially effective. You're right, the room the hearing was held in looked like any ordinary meeting room. The Committee to Outlaw Body & Soul, for just one example, would probably meet in that room on Monday nights!
Members j swift
I concur. I love a trial where secrets are revealed. Philip could expose Xander firing his lawyer, and the serum deal (which would effect Kayla). Xander could counter with the letter. And there would be some real intrigue. But they've neglected to notice that he's had a head transplant. Edited December 16, 2024 by j swift

Members Bright Eyes
Solid episode today. Literally, not one bad scene. I just know Lauren Koslow hates the B&S crap too, because as soon as this Philip story began, she's sprung back into action. It's almost like she's pleading through the screen not to have to go back to that inane mess. She properly felt like Kate today, matured, as she should be after all this time, but actually her. I'll miss her when she has to deviate back to the BS. I like Xander and Paul Telfer is wonderful (in many ways), but I was wholeheartedly rooting for Philip and Belle today. I don't even care, bring JPL back permanently because Philip is literally the best part of the show right now. I'm a broken record about it at this point. Suzanne Rogers looked fabulous! She's such a beacon of light to me. With how fast RC is running through story, I can't even fathom where we'll be come April/May. Did Shawn ever get a sponsor for his addiction? Which brings to me a thought: we totally should have gotten a Lucas/Maggie scene during Doug's funeral week, much like the Brady/Maggie scenes today, but they also just made me really miss Marlena/Maggie's friendship. Members j swift
Please register in order to view this content , I enjoy that they're dressing her like a rich lady. She's one of the few that the hair, makeup, and costumes has done correctly. I don't know if it is a wig, extensions, or just an amazing blow-out, but she looks so better than she did in the mid80s with short hair.
Members AbcNbc247
F*ck off, Alex. I know this storyline ebbs and flows when it comes to quality but I’m really starting to really dislike this hatchet job that they’re doing on Johnny just to prop him. It’s just not necessary. Maybe if RSW had more of an acting range, I’d feel differently lol And, I’m worried that they’re doing the same thing with Stephanie. I don’t particularly mind her being messy, like she was today lol but if it’s being done just to prop another character then it once again comes off as ridiculous and unnecessary. But I’m looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen with her and how it’s going to affect everybody. Hopefully, this means that Alex will start being a part of the Kiriakis family storylines again instead of this B&S bs. He just needs to be written in a way that similar to his acting style, i.e: the villain. Maybe that’ll happen with the new writers. As for Philip vs. Xander, I didn’t expect the result that we got but I don’t mind it that much, even though Philip was back to being campy and annoying again today and I don’t like that. Hopefully, it doesn’t turn into a pissing contest between the two of them like it did with EJ and Stefan. Maybe it would have better if Belle had been able to get Sarah to admit on the stand that Xander tried to kill Brady, which ultimately causes Xander to lose Titan. That could’ve led to conflict between her and Xander, and with Belle as well. In some ways, the spousal privilege thing did seem like a weak resolution, IMO. Btw, I found it hilarious that Sarah was so worried about possibly committing perjury but had no problem with lying that Brady was the one who ran her over. Between that and the dialogue being totally cringe all throughout today, was it a Jamey episode? Members Adriana
Stephanie's character has had the same thing written for her every year where the writers just keep throwing guys around her and the relationships go nowhere and she is going to rush into something with Phillip because she thinks Alex slept with Joy
Members Contessa Donatella
I'm not an apologist for either one of them but it seems to me that Johnny gets anything he deserves. He's the one who cheated. And, it looks like he's going to escape any punishment or consequences except this dorky behavior he's forced to endure. Stephanie, to me, is sorta like they present her. Definitely fickle. She never knows what she wants. And, she would believe anything! Well, I didn't see that coming! King Solomon type of ruling where the two brothers who hate each other are forced to work together. 50% to one & 50% to the other, equal partners & co-CEOs! This is going to be predictably disastrous! I never can tell.
