Isn't that what she's 'known' for?

I wouldn't mind. I liked that one week where there was an episode of Gio/Trina talking and there was a spark. And then the episode before that was a scene where Trina/Kai were talking...no writing gimmicks...and they had a little spark too. So I feel it's possible and I would love to see Trina in the middle for a change.

This is fairly common practice on soaps over the decades, though. The problem here is Frank hires everyone and fires almost no one.

It's also obvious in early press notices they intended to try him with Trina, then opted out because they were uncomfortable or thought he would be more of a prize than they wanted to actually give the Black girl. Ironically they do have chemistry now. I like GM but the BLQ/Dante crap is the least of what interests me about him, and they have once again hired a talented person to largely stand around lining the canvas and adding to the cast glut.

Cam has returned! Cam is a better man than Dex. He is better man than Spencer. He is certainly better to have around than Gio. He needs to stay. The show has suffered without him.

Joss betrayed Cam. The show is now showing that Cam is happy with Gretchen while Joss is suffering.

Jordan and Isaiah’s face cards are unmatched. My mom (who no longer watches soaps these days) was swooning over them.

Cameron Mathison really works as a heel. So much time wasted trying to sell him as a good guy.

Loved seeing William Lipton again.

Mathison was born to play Drew as the sleezeball Quartermaine. I despised him as Ryan who was so overly self righteous all the time, but I’m such a fan of him as Drew since the affair first started with Nina and moved to Willow. He also has perfect antagonistic chemistry with SB as Jason. This show loves killing people off but I’m hoping they resist with Drew.

Jordan and Isaiah will make a beautiful couple. The way the Isaiah actor lights up the second he sees Jordan is just perfect. He has it so bad for her.

Lol this makes me SO angry . I will regularly bring it up once a month at least with my Sonny hate as I continue my efforts to get @carolineg to hate Sonny too

    • Okay I can buy that when Brook Lynn was a teen.  Now she knows the child is a boy one would think she'd be slightly suspicious.  Then again, Gio looks nothing like either of them so maybe not lol.
    • I've been behind & just got caught up & the last 3 days were amazing!
    • Yeah.  The hot, poor bad boy with a chip on his shoulder but with a heart of gold was a common soap trope in the 80s

    • That's been an issue with me... the lack of a cohesive 'Have Not' crowd that has focus other than Leslie/Eva.   I would beef up Jan, Mona, Laura, Joey, and few other male characters.. and not just be out to overthrow the Duprees.. but co-existing and broadening the scope of the show since the show is called Beyond the Gates. I think the set up the show has with everything revolving around the Duprees will become predictable especially if they always win.   It would be like Victor Newman on Y & R for 40+ years.. always winning, hardly ever losing.   With MVJ/Guza.. both trained under that mindset... I fear that will happen.   I've always heard from a performer that is playing a character like Leslie/Dana that you have to find the victim/hurt beneath the surface in order to play a villain/villainess... and I think that's why I enjoy watching her.. because she brings so much more to the part than what the writers put on the page.
    • I figure that was really hard for Dom to do. I completely GET why they wrote it the way they did but I wonder if it was necessary. Meanwhile I have 2 really icky ideas in my head. Drew is going to blame Tracy KNOWING it was not her. Dante is going to blame Lulu.  After that, everyone else is going to be mad at Lois.  Tracy is going to double down on wanting to get rid of Sonny. Sonny's going to be more dug in to stay because he now has a new descendant.
    • I can actually buy Brook Lynn being so self-absorbed and incurious that she never thought to question why her mom and grandma were so attached to Gio.
    • It was overkill and the whole narrative Lois was too nice to the orphan kid when he was little, WHAT? Like Emma said no one thinks Gio is a troublemaker that gets 14-year-old kids drunk for fun. That being said, Lulu figured this Gio thing out in episode, but Brook Lynn never once questioned Lois and Gloria's attachment to a child that was the same age as the baby she gave up?  Ever?
    • Thanks for finding that. I may have been thinking of this blog entry.
