Kinda how I feel about Dr. O when she was around.

When she first appeared as Faison's henchwoman, I loved her. And her diva hat turn when it was revealed she was Britt's mother was fierce. But outside of the Cabaret number at the Nurse Ball and the menacing Is that All There Is?...they took her bite away quick. Still loved her, but...

It's strange because I can see some logic (outside of looks) to cast JPS as Valentin based on some of his previous work.  He can be menacing.  But once you are crying all the time and performing Billy Joel at the Nurses Ball you can't take him seriously as someone to be feared.  Manipulative and conniving?  Sure.  A villain Helena was seriously concerned about?  Absolutely not.

The problem is: Valentin was originally scripted as the illegitimate son of Mikkos Cassadine was shown in the summer of 2009 under executive producer Jill Farren Phelps and head writer Robert Guza, Jnr. But it was Frank Valentini and Jean Passanante & Shelly Altman who introduced Valentin as "Theo". The "writer" toyed with the idea of Valentin in 2013 (with Irizarry recast in the role).

Borlenghi described Valentin as "morally bankrupt," while Stuart said he was presented to him as "brash and take no prisoners," which to me is a watered down concept of "morally bankrupt" to the point where he has moral. So, that's where I really struggle with the role of Valentin. And then Stuart told Soaps In Depth he enjoyed playing the "misunderstood [bleep]hole," which again, does not fit Borlenghi's "morally bankrupt" Valentin. The role was mutilated beyond repair.

Borlenghi showed up for work... and it just never happened, which is disappointing. Then we got saddled with "papa" who speaks French like it's his love language. From my perspective, it should be Greek. I think of Deimos on DAYS (with Irizarry) and think, "Fück. We could have had it."

Unless Peter Reckell commits to Days full time I don't see Steve being dropped.  There is a gaping hole that John leaves and unless they are planning to make Roman central again (by recasting back to Wayne again) the show needs that nostalgic hero.  Plus, the show needs one of their 80's supercouples and Patch/Kayla fit that bill.   Again this all depends on what Kristian and Peter decide to do in the end, but right now it seems short term for both.

Part of me feels like Peter Reckell could be open to a more permanent return now that a certain producer is gone. He left because he was not given anything creative to do, and I think if Janet Spellman-Drucker, with Paula Cwikly & Jeanne Marie Ford are able to give him something to do, he'd be open to it. Kristian Alfonso could be another story altogether.

Yes, I remember, the hints and looking forward to seeing who would be a Cassadine that even Helena was scared of.

This was not what I had in mind.

Too watered down.

They legitimately gave him a lobotomy. It's so.... awe-striking to me, and not in a good way.

Once FV and Passanante got JPS it was over. They've all been infatuated with him from Day 1.

To this day I think Helena offered up Valentin's name all those years ago as a cover for someone/something else, and that's the story I'd do.

Retconning Valentin from being Mikkos' son to Helena's son with Victor was one of the stupidest things, too. Like, beyond stupid.

Valentin was so hated that Helena warned Stavros, Stefan & Natasha (a.k.a. Alexis) to stay away from him, and not even contact him. Now we have... whew... not even close to that.

Well, VI would at least have more chemistry with Finola lol.  I couldn't stand Deimos so I am having trouble seeing it.  Obviously, VI is more than capable of playing a villain.  Then again so is JPS.  The writing was and is chaotic.  Charlotte was the first huge mistake for the character IMO.  The whole Papa nonsense coupled with the fact he just stole Lulu's egg or whatever comes off super creepy not world domination scary.

Without veering too far off topic-I don't even necessarily care about KA returning full time.  Hope as a character is spent IMO.  I am not an uber of Bo/Hope to begin with, but Reckell has shown he can do a variety of different things with a variety of different love interests and characters so I would welcome him back without her.  Hope is clearly adrift as a character without Bo.  I still wouldn't drop SN or MBE.  With the recent personal losses on Days it's just a bad look, regardless of whether I think Steve is critical to the canvas or not.

Yes!  I would definitely go with that.  Dump Valentin and either reveal the real "Valentin" or just make the whole thing a cover for someone much scarier his name couldn't be said aloud lol.

So you know he's bad news when she dares talk to Nastasha.

But alas...

YUP! Helena hated both Stefan & Natasha, but she warned them both of Valentin... that's the power this character was given.... and then taken away.

I’d love for Helena to still be alive and come back to assassinate Valentin. I don’t care how f.ucking old she is to still be doing this sh!t either!

It would take too long and blow what little budget GH has left (as a sendoff for a presumed move to streaming) but I have it in a drawer lol. I will never work in soaps but it's just a fun pipe dream.

Perhaps Ned/Alexis were popular?  I just haven't really heard many people express their like for them.  They are mostly forgotten, but I would say it was probably Alexis's best pairing?  It got weird when they did the whole Eddie's Angels stuff though.

I actually didn't mind some of the Sexis material either and I know that's not popular.

I remember back when they were a thing, they were popular. I ddint like them but that was mainly bc I didnt like her

Honestly, I thought they weren't that popular.  At the time GH had a lot of couples that just ranked higher in visibility and popularity so I wasn't sure if they were unpopular or just B/C level coupling popular.  It seems like that latter.
