As was always rumored at the time, yes. The show really screwed themselves.

Well, hopefully everyone is more adult and reasonable now, but I doubt it.

The Chad Duell stuff was separate.  I think MB was really upset about DG's firing and just blamed the new young guy that got hired and had nothing to do with the decision lol.

Although 2024 carolineg does think Mo might have had a point about CD 😂

I am glad that Ric is getting Heather out of prison. I would rather watch her than Ava, Portia, or Trina. Once she is out, Heather should be best friends with Laura and date Cyrus.

Do you watch the soap? He's been in the opening before, and was even in it yesterday.

Liberty City was your snarky comment really necessary?

Van already seems like a more commanding and vibrant presence than Ryan Carnes in the role of Lucas.  So far so good.

I am not advocating violence at all or violence between children, but I wish the boy Violet hit decided to hit her back hard lol.  Sorry that's mean.  Violet's existence in Chase/BLQ's lives age them up so much.  They are young and newly married.  This story is lame for them.

I liked the Lucky/Sonny scenes, but I always had a soft spot for JJ and MB's interactions.

These are the days where I can't stand Joss.  Trina/Gio had a minor disagreement like normal people have sometimes.  Joss didn't need to step in and stage an intervention.  UGH

The Portia/Ava scenes were interesting too.  I am not sold on the Portia villain turn, but it's nice BK gets material she can sink her teeth into.  Wringing her hands over Curtis for months was boring AF.

A pretty good overall show today.

The continuing problem with almost all characters under 30-40 on this show. I would kill Chase or divorce them offscreen immediately. If Setton doesn't want to play young horny BLQ she can dip too!

I like Van Hansis as Lucas so far, different vibe from Ryan Carnes but not in a bad way. He and Laura Wright have really good sibling chemistry already and I liked how his demeanor flipped when Lucas talked with Brad.

It was nice seeing JJ’s Lucky and Sonny together again. I like that they are letting Lucky express his fear about seeing Aiden and acknowledge his deadbeat behavior. I really enjoy Lucky and Isaiah’s friendship as well, its a cool new dynamic to see.

I’m aboard the Ric and Ava train now lol love these two together and Ava helping Portia cover her tracks for changing Heather’s test results is good use of her as a meddler.

Enough already with Gio and his violin. 🤦🏾‍♂️ I did like him and Trina’s conflict but they really need to find something else for the younger crew to do than talk about their parents and mentors 24/7. These are supposed to be prime messy years let that crew get active already.

The Violet, Chase and BrookLynn scenes were inoffensive but I just don’t care.

I don’t buy for one second Sonny would turn himself in for Alexis lol but I see the set up they’re about to play with him, Carly, Sam and everyone else involved mentioning how important finding the gun will be to prove Alexis innocent.

I thought Van was great with LW. They had Insta family vibes.

It's nice to see Van again.

😂 about your Violet hate!😂😂😂

Was lovely to see Van Hansis on my screen again. While the first few scenes did feel like I was watching an older Luke Synder, instead of Lucas Jones, I think in time, he'll settle in the role and do well. His version of Lucas is going to have a different energy than Ryan's.

Teasing a Brucas reunion already. I always like Brad and Lucas as a couple. Glad to see Brad back. However, I would like to see Lucas with someone new, even if just temporary. I suspect Brad is going to be set up and framed for doctoring the tests. Lucas will at first believe Brad did it, but eventually help Brad clear his name and fall back in love.

Two days in a row of "Lucky you should talk to your son" but instead of doing that, visiting everyone but Aiden. I could have did without the Sonny/Lucky scene.

Other than popping in for special episodes (like the Bobbie funeral episodes), I haven't been a regular viewer of GH in years, so I'm not sure who all the younger characters are, but none of them today caught my attention or interest yet.

I would get rid of both of them honestly.  It's one thing if the show is saddling them with this material, but they both want to have this boring, chaste, modest 1950's storyline.  Like go find a Hallmark movie career or something.  They are boring as hell.

I am going to say that little girl is the most annoying child on soaps.  She makes Rachel from Days seem tolerable.

Rachel another awful brat!😂

Oooh I really did hate young Spencer, but I thought Betchel was supposed to be obnoxious on purpose (as is Rachel).  Violet is supposed to be the most sweetest, lovable little girl on the planet.  She's not lol.

I agree; felt like he was demanding the presence he needed for the role, while also already making it his own for comfort.

I liked Carnes too.  He was more subtle than Van.  I do feel like Van will expand the role of Lucas more if writing allows of course.  It's obviously early, but so far I agree with the recast.

I agree; both are very different takes on the role of Lucas, but I do agree with the recast. I knew he'd work in the role and one episode in, and I feel it. Him talking about Bobbie and his past with Brad? I bought into it.

Agreed. But I didn't see anything objectionable in VH's performance so since Carnes turned it down we might as well have him.
