Some of the current writers truly do seem to put keeping some of their favorite characters, in spite of a laundry list of horrible actions, above any coherency.

I would write Ava out, but then I'd also write Sonny and Carly out, so I can understand why Ava might exist as a counterweight to them.

I have no idea why Heather is there. Zero. Alley Mills may be a wonderful person. Various writers may love the Wonder Years. They may love Doctor Quinn (RIP Orson Bean). Either way, the character needs to go.

When I peruse Twitter I notice a lot of the Liz fans also prefer her with Ric (or want a new man for her). She and JJ definitely had strong chemistry in the old days, but Guza truly salted the earth of that pairing on JJ's return.

And FINALLY!!! Lucky's back in Port Charles.

First thing's first. You can count me in on liking NuAidan. Not that I have a problem with people casted that are older than what they are playing cuz CW&WB&FOX&etc. I liked that he appeared to have some of the mannerisms of the Aidans that came before him. As if he did a little bit of studying. And that I can respect.

I again continue to wonder if they are going to write Scorpio off with Holly when she inevitably leaves town. Because watching these scenes with Holly and Mac feels like it's setting it up.

Oh...Hat Dad's gone?

We know how I feel about a whiny Anna so...

That ending was *swoon*

Same.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, but it seems instead of today's episode, what I have is an hour of news. I know that the show can be like sewage, but I don't see any stars in that pipe.

I’m shocked to not be alone on that island. Maybe once his face isn’t all beaten up? Honestly GV was Lucky when I started watching GH and he was much more suited to me for Lucky being a cop or adventurous. He and Jason also felt like equal romantic rivals as well during the partner swap summer. JJ and Steve Burton look about 30 years apart in age.

My DVR didn’t record the whole episode so I’m going to have to finish on Hulu tonight.

That's because a lot of them on Twitter are Liason stans. Liz with psycho Ric again does nothing for me because I could never believe she'd be with him again after the 2000s and the panic room, though I enjoy Ric for what he is (a crazy slimeball).

I had no particular fondness for LNL2 in the '90s, I found them too saccharine, but the older version appeals to me. JJ and Becky still have it if not moreso now that they're older IMO. It's just that Jonathan's return interferes with the show a lot of the Twitter kids had planned in their heads, so they act very vocal to project bigger numbers than they have. (Similar case in point: The supposedly massive fanbases of Sonny and Nina, Michael and Willow, etc.)

Yeah, I have a really hard time believing all these Liz/Ric fans are just popping up now.  I know this board isn't the barometer of the entire internet, but I remember saying I really liked early Liz/Ric and hardly anyone on here agreed lol.   Liz/Ric doesn't have the long term, endgame potential that LL2 have, so I would suspect some Liason cross agenda.  I think it's too soon for me to tell if I want Liz back with Lucky, but I certainly don't think Jason/Liz are ever getting back together lol.

I noticed this as well lol. Its funny observing how the various fanbases work on there, I gotta give the Liason stans credit for best organization in agenda pushing at least. They’ve made sure to flood the show hashtag with retro Liason content and negativity towards anything having to do with Lucky’s return on a constant basis.

A lot of the fanbases do false rage baiting as well. Like how people were riled up over the show erasing Nikolas from the transplant storyline and forgetting Lucky not being a donor match for Lulu back in the day when in actuality the show went out of its way to address all of that. When they got egg on their faces they all just pivoted to a new negative talking point to harp on. I have no problem understanding why TPTB just ignore the criticism lobbied against the show there.

They're really unsubtle. They were certain with Finn gone and Jarly tanking they'd have a clear path at Jason and it's never going to happen. Fortunately they're not the majority of viewers re: Lucky and Liz.

The Liason and JaSam fan wars were some of the ugliest fan based battles I have ever seen back in the day.  It turned me off to both pairings and, honestly, neither pairing was bad.   I don't actually think a Lucky/Liz/Jason triangle redux is a bad idea.  It's certainly better than Anna/Jason, but I can't deal with the crazy lol.

Yup.  The only other fanbase war I saw that was more ugly were those NOLer Carly/Sonny fans from the early 2000's who actually wished harm to NLG, VM, and Ted King so Sonny/Carly could stay together lol, but it was a very small group of nuts.  Liason/JaSam seem to have a larger, "intense" group of fans.

As a Liason fan, I *shivers* at the memories of those fanwars. It does not turn me off of them, but I can see why people might have a problem with liking either pair.

I could be down with a Lucky/Liz/Jason triangle and yes, now that I've seen it definitely better than Anna/Jason.

Hehe. Common enemies do that.

    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
    • I said on Twitter on Friday when Leslie mentioned Chicago that perhaps she might be related to one of Anita's bandmates. Since we hardly know anything about Leslie's childhood background. In addition, Leslie said she grew up listening to The Articulettes….
    • There was a scene in the past week or two with Leslie looking at some papers and mementos, which included an invitation or souvenir from Alan's memorial service or funeral -- it was dated as November 2024. Me just guessing but it seems to me that Martin's nightmares about the accident are from something longer ago than November.
    • ah thanks! do you know who the third one was in the blonde? the fifth one i know ive seen before in the brown wig but i forgot, and then ive never seen the psychic one before lol
    • I felt for Ted early on but as the story unfolded it has changed my opinion on him. To know he was cheating while his wife was struggling to give him a baby is a lot to deal with. Plus, this happened ages ago and still he's paying Leslie off and threatening her to leave town.  What really caused me to lose him in this episode was how even though he was busted, he still refused to take responsibility and come clean and the way he talked to Martin and Eva was terrible. To tell Smitty he better get Martin away from him when that is his SON who he used to cover up his affair? That is true dog behavior. Ted seems upset he got caught but I'm not seeing the remorse I would need to want Nicole to forgive him. I'm curious how I'll feel after Ted gets to talk to Nicole but I need him to fix it with the rest of the family as well.
    • I'm sorry. I well remember Jake doing Doris but I have no independent memory of the story around it.  Krystle with a K Lake, sure, both Tony the Tuna stories & NOT.  And, Jake also impersonated a woman named Bunny Eberhardt but he didn't know she was a woman so there was no drag. This weekend I re-watched Kevin & Mac, GH, and my strong impression is exactly what it was when I watched it in real time: They did not let them look very pretty. Of course, I think the best ever drag on GH was Alexis posing as the Q butler.  In a different use of drag at AW one Halloween, Jensen Buchanan went as Charlie Chaplin & Judi Evans went as, I think, a male gypsy.

    • I'm not sure who wanted them to dump REUNION & instead do a "Dallas-like daytime show" but it seems that it def came from NBC to AW through Rauch, so, yes, it absolutely could have been his (cough-another-stupid?) decision!!!! I've just begun the new Lisanti book so maybe I will find out. (I waited for the kindle version to come out.) I would apologize for being so critical & so sarcastic, too, but, well, I'm not actually sorry!  Silverman was NOT a friend to AW.  And, I believe the critique is on point & deserved! I wanted to explain why I think the timing is off for the 90 minute show to be a reaction to the GH Luke & Laura story & its hype. Because, for sure, networks & production companies did react to it! The first 90 minute show was Monday, March 5, 1979.  And, there was some unknown amount of time ahead of that with people arguing about it & then, planning it.  The Luke & Laura wedding was mid-November 1981.  They were on the run from Frank Smith & stayed overnight in Wyndham's Dept. Store early August 1980.
    • terrible at using forums and inserting photos, but jake in another world had a drag persona named doris, anyone know the episode or year? http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/ffad19.jpg
    • Yes, I am familiar with Fred Silverman. Agree, the 90 minute AW a very poor decision by Silverman. I think Silverman was behind the decision to go with Texas.
    • Thanks -- you're doing God's work The Gio reveal was everything I hoped for and more. GH got it right. Head to toe, GM is a stunning physical specimen.
