I made peace with the whole Brenda replacement situation years ago.  

I did like her as a vixen/villainess during that Summer of Sleaze era.

Even though I have always irrationally hated Sam and won't pretend otherwise.  She wouldn't be first on my list to go.  Not even top 10 lol.

Sam has been on borrowed time for years. Her death will be zero loss, aside from Danny and Scout. On paper you'd think she seemed important, but the way she drained the life out of her scenes (Hence the nickname Saminex) just rendered her easily expendable. Besides, someone's salary has to pave the way for a Vanessa Marcil return ---  right @carolineg?

Vaganos has no business getting a contract. She's needed to be replaced as well. Hiring Mansi for Kristina rebooted a character that had been hum-drum for years. They should have just put Molly off screen for a few weeks and recast her with a stronger actress instead of the merry-go-round of duds we received.

Personally I thought Ellen Wheeler should have fired KZ when everyone else agreed to an out of cycle pay cut except Zimmer. I believe a more experienced EP would have done so. 

But I've never heard of anyone trying to connect JvD being bumped down to recurring to Zimmer's position. There is no there, there. There's not even a tenuous connection much less causality. A certain number of people were going to have to be moved from contract to recurring. Wheeler made a huge error when she made those choices. That's on her. How in heck was anything on Zimmer? Does not compute.

Agreed. But IMO Molly and T.J. have no longterm use at this point period, and Molly needs a long rest off-canvas.

Like I said the other day, soap twitter has its uses but it is not IRL. Everyone has fans on there, everyone thinks they're huge based on some handful of scenes. They think every mid couple or C-tier pairing is big game, and it ain't. It's the same principle here. Acting like Sam/Dante/Lulu was going to be some major gangbusters triangle that could spike the show's ratings and be great story - please. It is a foregone conclusion set against a stopgap C-pairing the show has no investment in. We are in the 2020s. We need to be getting more serious than acting like weak tea like Sam/Dante, T.J./Molly, Sonny/Nina, Brennan/Carly, Kristina/Blaze, Dex/Joss, etc. are going to drive the ratings. GH at its modern height, in the mid-late '90s or even early 2000s would not piss on these weak setups.
