Thanks so much! HTTTrack is already having trouble saving the GH page to my computer so this is invaluable. Looks like 2023 and 2024 are not archived but haven't checked all pages. I'm very surprised that all the soaps haven't been archived in the wayback machine, so thank you for your invaluable efforts! May I ask what the process is? Do you use the wayback browser extension?

I just opened the links in the wayback machine to see if they have been archived. I saved it that way if it hasn't been saved. However, I sometimes used the extension.

I finished up As The Word Turns yesterday, started on All My Children (just finished  up to 1996).

So, anything y'all think might be worth saving, you better try and get it while you can, particularly the canceled soaps. Doesn't look like the new website will house any older content beyond the four current soaps and the aforementioned four British soaps.

Thank you for this heads up, Errol!

Start saving, guys! There's not much time left.

It also looks like the message boards are either gone completely, or they are converting it to a different platform. Either way, it doesn't work right now.

That psycho admin shouldn't have edited my post months ago.  I put a curse on that forum right then and there.

Joking, just joking.

But yes, I hope the world's most toxic board  is FINALLY OVER!

Thanks for the info, Errol!

Wow... so fast... really sad. I have never visited the message board, so don't really care about that, but I have been visiting SC a lot for old episode recaps and character information. Now it will all be gone

I just finished One Life To Live.

I have either confirmed or saved the Daily Recaps for all the canceled soaps that was on the site (there were broken links that could not be saved but mostly from One Life to Live).  I just finished One Life To Live.

Update: Completed all of The Young & The Restless + The Bold & The Beautiful 90's Recaps.

Another World

Sunset Beach

Passions

Port Charles

Guiding Light

As The World Turns

All My Children

One Life To Live

Interesting side notes:

*Passions was the only canceled soap that had all their daily recaps previous saved.

*Guiding Light and As the World Turns seemed to had the least saved.

*Recaps from the 1990's were almost never saved from all the soaps.

They have a lot of overly restrictive rules on the boards. Sometimes to the point of ridiculousness! But I still would hate to see it go it’s been around a long time!!

Update: Days of Our Lives 90's  daily recaps have been either confirmed or saved

General Hospital 90's daily recaps have been all saved under their new web address.

General Hospital is the only soap that has the new updated design as of today.  The yearly recap webpages have not been updated with the new design but the daily recaps pages have been updated with new design and have brand new webpage address.

This is causing a problem with the Internet Archived. Within Internet Archived, any daily recaps that were not previous saved with the old web address is currently not linking to the new web address making it appeared those recaps were not saved.

Unfortunately as of right now, the only way in the future to see the newly saved daily recaps within Internet Archive is changing the dates at the end of the web address.

For example;

For January 04, 1999 -

https://web.archive.org/web/20240807204513/https://www.soapcentral.com/general-hospital/general-hospital-weekly-recap-for-990104

For January 11, 1999 - https://web.archive.org/web/20240807204505/https://www.soapcentral.com/general-hospital/general-hospital-weekly-recap-for-990111

In other words, you might just want to use HTTTrack or saved pages that you want to keep.

    • I did not care, just clarifying that was the discussion point. If there are ice cream bars in Statesville I am sure there is a full spa
    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?
