Yeah, I get why they named their kid Donna in tribute.   I just don't no how many people are currently naming their kids Donna.  If the little girl wasn't so adorable I'd move to kill her off.

I would agree Theresa is much more common at least.  I have met a few Jeannie's in my life, but they were much older than me lol.

I think technically Belle was supposed to be conceived on the plane since it was the same night as Roman/Marlena's anniversary and Marlena was with both men.  I just think through the years the show has changed it to the conference room table because that was the more scandalous and memorable of the two hookups.

There are people who disliking Sonny as much as they do, who indeed do want Donna done away with, and the dimples for them just make it worse.Me, generally I am not into killing of children, although we do know I have called for Violet and sometimes Charlotte to meet that end!

Yeah, that whole time when we weren't sure who Belle's papa was, it was important that she had been with both men. What a slut! Do we even know if she grabbed a shower in between?

Donna doesn't need to exist in the first place.  We can keep her and sacrifice Violet though.

IIRC, they didn't show the love scene between Roman/Marlena.  Roman just said that they were together later on.   So hopefully she did shower in between, but she definitely went through the entire anniversary party without showering or changing her clothes lol.

I don't think the idea of a soap within a soap is bad.  I like Kate/Abe working together, I like Johnny being a part of it, I even don't mind Leo writing it.   It's the fact that Ron & co think it's the most hilarious idea anyone's ever had and they are so clever.   It makes me feel like they are making fun of their own audience and soaps are so silly and dumb.

Exactly.

The way all the humor gets written, it doesn’t come off as having respect for the genre or the actors or the fanbase. Or paying tribute to them. It comes off as having contempt for it all.

Seriously, Ron and Jamey are like the Friedberg and Seltzer of soaps.

I swear they hate their own show and their own dwindling fans.

I hate to feel stupid for watching the show everyday, caring this much, and even discussing it with others because this Body & Soul stuff is written as not laughing with us as an audience, but at us.

Like I said, I hope the actors enjoy playing it at least.

The sum total enjoyment I have gotten out of this iteration so far at least is Hattie (who I do not like) calling Bonnie (who I do not like) her ex-cellmate, "Bon" &  then delivering the line, "For the love of pickled herring, .." That is pretty damn thin & is not going to hold me for very long.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, because this is not a parody of soaps, it is a parody based on how gullible and frenzied soap fans can be.  If RonC was this tortured by his audience, I hope he's found some peace now that he is out of a job.

On a positive note, Deidre Hall looks great with a bolder lip color.

I will say I enjoyed the Johnny/Ava scenes.  I completely forgot they even knew one another then I remember their flirtation awhile back.

I often think Deidre Hall almost looks better as Hattie than as Marlena.  I know her outfits are supposed to be "goofy" and "silly", but they are often more figure flattering and her make up and hair look better.

I think there is a serious issue on how the show puts together episodes.  I really don't know all the nuances of producing and editing a show, but we know they have months and months of episodes done.

Having mustache twirling serial killer Connie and all this Body & Soul stuff feels like too much camp for one episode.    I think perhaps a more serious story might help balance out the Body & Soul stories.

I mean, does EJ even know Nicole left the country and Holly moved out?  Lol.

    • I have to check out his Bela Garody on Search for tomorrow. He was one of the main reasons EON worked for me when I was watching. Truly unforgettable presence. Handsome in the most perverse and sinister way. They don't make faces like that anymore.
    • My favorite moment in SOAPDISH is the HW taking the star to the mall in NJ to improve "morale"!!
    • Oh no! The shoulder pads! I will mourn them when they're gone. Please tell me the head pieces and hats remained!?
    • Shout! TV has now added season 26. Not sure what the reasoning for that was, but maybe it was the one that was ready to go...
    • It's AWFULLY hard to tell.  But out of the (approximately) 16 weeks so far in 2025, Bryton has only had about 12 episodes.  That's significantly less than 1 per week.  Once the actor drops down to less than 1 per week for an extended period of time (such as a 39-week cycle), I start thinking there's no contract in place for him or her.  Surely these folks aren't tying themselves down to a show for a guarantee of 1 or 2 episodes a month.   If I counted right, Bryton has had 21 episodes in the past 24 weeks.  They're either (a) about to kick into high-gear & work his ass off to meet his minimum guaranteed appearances, or else (b) he ain't got a contract that guarantees him squat.
    • These contract guarantees of 1 ep per month are ridiculous. How can you even have a story if your character apprars 4-5 times in a month? It's sad.
    • It's hard to tell with some actors appearing on average 4 times in a month whether they're recurring or just on a low guarantee contract. Someone recurring  like Beth Maitland can be used a lot for several months then disappear. So the monthly tallies aren't enough to go by.
    • Of the so-called "contract" cast members, I'd venture to say these are recurring: Bryton James, Camryn Grimes, and (possibly) Michael Graziadei.  I've suspected since 2018 that Kate Linder and Christian LeBlanc are recurring.  And I believe we all know Miss Ordway is, because she said so. lol.
    • Dante blaming Gio instead of his dweeb son and the other dweeb was just ridiculous. Gio's paternity story is going in circles with no reveal. I've already started fast forwarding Drew and his stupid ho Willow's story. Kristina's story is beyond dumb with no great payoff.
    • Sarah (with the English accent) isn't just some random character.  Sarah was once the housekeeper for Eliot Dorn and Margo Huntington.  One of the following 2 scenarios happened a few months ago: (1):  One night, while Margo wasn't at home, and while Oscar the Doorman wasn't at his post, a burglar sneaked into the private elevator, rode up to the penthouse, stole several thousand dollars worth of Margo's valuable diamonds and pearls, and tied-up Eliot Dorn and Sarah the Housekeeper, ensuring that Eliot and Sarah couldn't pursue the burglar back down to the lobby or phone the police to apprehend the burglar. OR --  (2): Eliot Dorn was SLEEPING with Sarah the Housekeeper, and the two of them conspired to steal Margo's jewelry and went on a lavish spending spree and then tied THEMSELVES up to make it look as though a burglary had occurred in the penthouse. Margo Dorn currently believes Scenario #1 occurred, and she's rather annoyed that the "incompetent police" haven't located her stolen jewels yet.  Eliot and Sarah know that Scenario #2 actually occurred.  When Sarah stopped by the Unicorn and saw Eliot kissing Raven Swift, Sarah snidely said, "Oh! This must be Mrs. Dorn!  Nice to meet you, Mrs. Dorn!" Sarah knew good & damn well Raven isn't "Mrs. Dorn" because Sarah worked for Margo Dorn on a daily basis for many months.  That was Sarah's not-so-subtle way of announcing, "I'll be paying a visit to District Attorney Logan Swift and letting him know that his wife is sleeping with you, and I'll be paying a visit to WMON to let Margo Huntington know that you're sleeping with Mrs. Swift!"  lol.
