It was stupid; Milo was just a random one for her to attach to. Would have made more sense had Johnny Zacchara been there, and she latched to him.

It was that weird Ron period where he thought he'd try to make the Cheetwood brothers a thing lol.

Dustin, the very beginning, gave "creep vibes" with Cameron Webber, and I kind of wish they'd been allowed to delve into that more.

I remember him being a teacher and Lulu thinking he was a criminal or something?  But he was just a decent guy.  Stupid

Plus, Lulu also went and became... a journalist? Of all things, a journalist? Whew.

I don't mind Lulu being a journalist tbh.  I never felt Lulu had the passion that Maxie did for fashion/cosmetics.  Since she was working at a magazine it's not the worst pivot for her to go into investigative journalism.  It's not like Sasha, the supermodel, randomly becoming a cook.

Yup; I even remember Lawson liking a post on IG / tweet where I even stated it felt like there was something nefarious about Dustin at first, and then they just... ignored it in the writing. So disappointing.

Was there a writing change back then?  You are much better at knowing this than I am.  They killed off Dev, Dustin, and canned Lulu at the same time and it just felt like a shift.  Because they invested so much in Dev and then he just died.

No writing change to my recollection... just a different direction, or finally deciding one altogether. The exits of Dev, Dustin & Lulu were call about one-year into the regime of Chris Van Etten & Dan O'Connor, so I don't think it was a decision made by them. My guess? Either Valentini or Disney ABC said "fix your budget," and those three exited and the Floatin' Rib set were collateral. One regular, two recurring and a set? Makes sense.

See? I was just about to say writing shift. And it definitely felt like a shift.

But interesting that that is one year into CVE and DOC's run. Or is this after DOC joins?

Looks like I’m still not going to like Kristina for the foreseeable future. She’s gone from being shocked that her dad is a criminal to now wanting her criminal father and his Hitman to kill Ava.

Wow don’t tell me Sonny was actually right about Cates 🙄.

Enjoyed all of the scenes today surrounding Lulu.

One-year into his return, during December 2020 (so COVID era). O'Connor's material began airing right before the COVID shut down.

The show is in such a weird hybrid state. It’s not quite as generic as it was before Mulcahey. The scripts could be better, but there is clearly more care in them than there used to be.

Very good to hear coming from you. :)

I wonder if some of the people who were sandbagging Mulcahey are trying harder now, especially as the show's future is probably on the line.

Hmmmmm

I just wonder what they’re gonna go if/when Lulu comes out of the coma. Judging from the news we got yesterday about KM, I guess we’re not getting a triangle.

A waste for sure.

Mark Lawson was wasted, as well.

Totally. With his FOINE short self.

But journalist doesn't mean boring. It's all in how it plays out. And I felt Lulu was at least good at it.

And then look at Alexis. I thought her becoming a publisher was a much ado about nothing and so odd, but as it went on, it had some meat to it and potential for story. She grew. And that made her potential return to being a lawyer so fascinating to watch. I wish PM was still around because I wanted to see if this would be a dilemma for her since she was good at both jobs.

Ahhhh! I see.

Makes a good case for the Rules, too, given COD always came across more old school.

I can't wait until we stop pretending that Patrick Mulcahey was good for this show.

His stuff was beyond boring and he seems to have a 80's mindset on issues?

To me, him and Josh Kelly are inter-changeable in terms of looks department, but Lawson is a bit stronger in talent.

I prefer Lawson because he has life behind his eyes. I’ve always thought Josh Kelly dating back to OLTL had very dead eyes. Also Lawson is a much more charismatic actor imo. I didn’t see any of his GH run though.

It was a mess, but those were some of the best scripts the show has had in a decade. Not that it matters now, but uncredited he gave KM and DZ the material to make their families seem like actual people, and their relationship felt real. He gave Nina a brain and a purpose beyond begging for Sonny to take her back. There was good in there.
