Trying to compete with the upcoming new soap.... Stunt casting....

We all know the only stunt casting that might move the needle, and it’s Vanessa.

I love RH and I always enjoy smarmy Ric weaseling about. Few things could be worse than his last return, and the character has been missed so why not.

I forgot he was involved with Nina.

Ric was my favorite pairing for Alexis because they had crackling chemistry and both knew how to sell it.

I thought it was a great idea on paper and with those actors, but always done with such chauvinism and condescension by the writers who clearly disliked Alexis at the time.

What woman wasn’t subjected to misogynistic writing during Guza’s entire last stint, with or without Pratt? Maybe Robin escaped the worst of it while still being subjected to it?

I don't know... Lisa Niles comes to mind (in terms of not really escaping it).

Even that was pretty mild compared to what happened to Carly, Alexis, Liz, Sam. Tracy chased deadbeat Luke around, Anna became an Eli Love groupie, Laura a wig on a stick. Not a great time for women on a show that should have known better. But look at today? Not much better, if not worse for writing marginalized folks.

Well, now those in the LGBTQIA+ community are alphabet soup, so.....

And day after day of everyone from Anna on down lecturing Robin on how lucky she was to net a man like Patrick. It seemed like at least some of the Guza team's grudging acceptance that they were stuck with Scrubs, when they clearly had hoped to have JT/Patrick in play more with others (the long Carly friendship/flirtation, etc).

But yes, Robin got off easier than others. Scrubs got a lot of good material and were one of the central hearts of the show. And I actually liked Anna's reentry to the show in the mid-2000s, rappelling down from a chopper and beating up Robert. People are lampooning it recently for reasons I don't understand, but that's Anna to me. It was the entire stupid Markham Islands caper with Holly, etc. (and Luke's latest Guza-fied heir/Lucky stand-in, Dillon) that didn't work for me, along with of course what they did with Anna later with Eli Love, etc. But it's all small potatoes compared to the mess she's in now.

Nothing against Ric Hearst, who is a very charismatic presence (even if I've never really connected to most of his soap work, I admire how much he tries - he did yeoman's work in some nonsensical parts, including the whole "Whip" period on B&B), but I don't think he's being used as stunt casting against a soap that isn't even on yet.

Exactly. He's not a "grab," but if the grab I suspect may be coming happens, then that would be a WIN!

What was the last return?

The character seemed to mostly be introduced so we would feel sorry for Sonny (again) and then he stayed on through Ric's efforts and his being an FOJ, so I am mostly just surprised he's survived this long.

If that happens it would definitely be a coup.

Ric swiftly married Stafford's Nina in RC's truncated final year, gaslit her with a crying baby audio app named "Waaahhh!" as she crawled around on all fours, and before that danced in place and autotune sang to an unimpressed Elizabeth begging for her love at the Nurses Ball in a moment I've tried to scrub from my mind.
