They were determined to do that throwback to Justin and Adrienne, by having Alex meet Stephanie and declaring her the love of his life, even though they were raised as cousins. Plus, they were also determined to move Chad on from Abigail as fast as they could, without any substance to back up either plot point. 

And I think the storyline was a bust solely based on that, even though I did like Chad/Stephanie as a couple as well. 

The writers are going to back to Alex and Stephanie pairing on the show and alot of viewers don't know about Adrienne who wasn't a longtime viewer of Days and I personally never saw that as a factor with Alex and Stephanie being paired when even Tate and Holly who are paired currently have some family ties 

Today's episode Amazing scenes with Gabi and Jada together supporting each other and them discussing the pattern of the knife that was used on Rafe and Jada got the knife sent to a lab to be tested and then Gabi and Jada got bad news from Kayla about Rafe that he is in a coma

 

 

Other stuff in this episode rehashing of the baby stuff that happened with Leo and Nicole scenes together then Marlena and Ej stuff and Roman and Eric stuff with Jude

 

Everett/Bobby and Connie stuff again with them arguing about Rafe's stabbing and Everett/Bobby mentioned to Connie about how he couldn't be there for Jada because he still had to pretend to be Everett 

 

Connie and Leo interaction was not needed for this episode 

Finally, Marlena was used effectively! Even though the phone call with Leo was not necessary.

Her scenes with EJ were the best part of today. It was definitely a conversation that needed to be had. The slap actually looked better than it did in the promo too. And she didn’t gasp or take a deep breath either 😂😂 

Too bad Nicole didn’t get to slap Leo though.

I also liked Roman encouraging Eric to see if it was still possible for him and Nicole to be together. 

As for Connie and Bobby-Everett, the storyline is still DOA and possibly bringing Leo into it, and into another storyline, makes it even worse. It really is crazy that Days spent so many years pushing younger characters as the leads, only to have the current lead character be a 50 year old manchild. 

Leo is always add to everybody storyline on the show because his character is definitely Ron favorite

I noticed something about the regular writers everytime Jada is going through a crisis they always have her dealing with stuff alone and looks like this situation with Rafe in a coma will be no different

Given his lethargic affect as an actor, will it be that different from how he plays his other scenes? 😉

Also, how does a knife in the back, with zero loss of blood at the scene, cause a coma?  I mean, Connie's pretty short, I doubt her knocking Rafe on the back of his head did much damage.

Kayla mentioned In today's episode Rafe had damage to his lungs from the stabbing then he had to get more surgery which led to Rafe having a brain aneurysm which is why he is in a coma 

Loved the EJ/Marlena scenes today.

Seriously, why didn't Connie just kill Everett instead?  That solves multiple problems and instead she's just creating new ones.

Leo is entirely awful, but I actually thought him calling Marlena to invite her over to watch Drag Race was a bit funny.  Mostly DH's facial expressions during the convo lol.

Gabi should join the police force.  She seems entirely more capable of solving a crime than Jada OR Rafe lol.  That long sleeve velvet dress in July makes me hot just thinking about though.

We got rid of Konnie and now we get Connie. Sigh. 

Have they even tried to explain why she was covered in Li's blood when Bobby/Everett saw her in the park, but her dress was spotless in the aftermath of the crime itself?

I had the same thought.  I assume Connie did something weird and stupid like hug dying Li on the floor after Gil left, but before Gabi came in.

And then decided to walk in the park in a bloody ball gown.

That was my thought, as well. Seems unnecessarily complicated, so maybe they screwed up filming the flashbacks and have to insert something to explain it. Or they just won't explain it! Things barely make sense from day to day on this show anyway.

The whole plot is unnecessarily complicated.  Connie should have just left town ages ago.  Or just killed Bobby/Everett instead of cooking a whole new murder plot of the Police Commissioner.   Using the same knife?  Or a similar knife?  She's an idiot and deserves to get caught.  Jada just forgetting entirely about the knife and then picking it up off a hospital table probably completely tampered with the evidence though.  Also, since Harris quit there aren't any other cops in Salem to handle this case besides Jada?

All I really, truly want to know at this point in time on DAYS is why are we having so many flashbacks that we're starting to have them the way we did when Reilly was having a bad month. If you recall, that was as bad as it got for him at DAYS.
