Did anyone watch today!

Ethan and Maya were soooo cute

Ethan was saying how Edward asked him two questions on the history of ELQ before he let Alice poor his coffee.

LOL and that Edward was reading out the stocks all afternoon

Did anyone catch the Bobbie mention today?!

Also, I'm concerned...Maya said today "I'm not buying the confused old man routine."

Confused old man??? Could they really be going for senile Edward? :(

I think they are heading in the direction of Edward and senility of some form. It would be a first on daytime and I can't wait to see what the Spencermaines will do with it.

And for the love of God could they PLEASE stop calling it a "Green-card Wedding". Just call it wedding already - if they want to convince the authorities that it isn't real, calling it "green card" will accomplish that nicely. We all know where it will head, so just call it a wedding/marriage already. Sheesh…...

I am glad you aren't being affected by a tsunami, TQ.

It is so horribly devastating for Japan.

You never know what will come. So, you need to live life to the fullest now.

Luke and Carly were on today talking about blackmailing Jax into dropping the custody suit against Carly. She said she loved Jax, but how many times can you break up and get back together before saying enough is enough. Luke's reply was to say, "God, tell me about it." He had a frustrated look on his face when he said that. I took it to mean that he is upset that he and Tracy are on the outs again. They wouldn't be if he hadn't screwed up again. He is his own worst enemy.

I wish wardrobe would be more consistent with his wedding band. It was off today. It has been on for all of his scenes since the wedding.

I agree that it was a GH wardrobe mistake.

I don't think he would ever take the ring off even if they are on the outs because it would be a sign that he was giving up on her. Luke would never give up on Tracy.

If his fingers are swelling, then he can have it re-sized. Haha.

No i mean it was more recent than that but i just can't rememeber. When I do I'll post it, but it was within the last year or so. I remember commenting about it that is why I remember he had it off.

I know some men don't like wearing rings all of the time, but with them being newlyweds you expect to see him wearing it. You never see Tracy without her rings unless she has given them back to him after a break-up. I just wish for some consistency on this show.

    • on ryan’s hope, when kate mulgrew (mary) became pregnant in real life it was written into the show. she gave the baby up for adoption, but mary had the baby (ryan) so, when she returned to the show she had to play a happy new mother. can’t even imagine.
    • I have not found the time to listen to the whole thing myself, but I was tinkering with the Youtube AI helpbot thing (which in the app I found by swiping right on the Comments). The high level summary didn't point to it but it let me ask what she had said about Constance Ford and although its paraphrase was inaccurate it did point me to the mention about 52 minutes in. The only thing she said in relation to Ford that could be construed as negative was that when the interviewer asked what she had thought of her she started with "you devil!" and where she had gushed about how lovely she found practically everyone else, she just said that she hadn't really known Connie well and had never sat and talked with her. She also mentioned earlier that originally she had been very friendly with Jacqueline Courtney but they had later fallen out.
    • Gloria Monty started using tape editing but I doubt that was straight away. Maybe a few weeks/months in. Did Gloria hire new directors?-I would imagine so. She stated that she located the old tape machines used for the late night ABC Wide World of Mystery videotaped movies (some of which she directed). That meant that scenes could be shorter and chopped up, rather than one long scene playing start to end. Lamont was recast, probably with a more dynamic actor and the Mark/Katie story continued till mid 78. Marland brought on Dan Rooney, Susan Moore and Gary's brother Howard. Also Chris Robinson took over in May. So Marland pretty much followed his rules-not making any major cast changes and working/refining what was there. Laura killing David was really the first big story that boosted the ratings.
    • Her description was a bit off but it was 52 years ago so we can give her a pass.
    • Oh. Ok. I just looked at the article. Thanks. Perhaps they changed Jack's name to Stuart, added a daughter and had them all have different hair colors.
    • Thank you. That's what I thought because of the year but who was "Jack with the three blonde daughters"?
    • You can watch it here without an app: https://www.cwtv.com/shows/tv-we-love/dynasty/
    • There are so many beats that could be played with relationships and history b/w  characters. But cast/set restrictions (and loust writing) are destroying that. Really liked seeing Jack and Nikki catch up. Trouble is, in the current version of Y&R it had to continue the entire episode. Hearing Lily talk on the phone to Maddie-how much better if we had actually seen the kids during Cane's return. Would the original actors return for a short stint? Maybe not and perhaps they don't feel a recast would work. All of this could have been avoided by letting BF be a new character. For the amount of difference it's made , there was really no need to bring back Cane.
    • Zeman said Marland created Barbara Jean Spencer, they called her Barbara until she and Monty decided Bobbie would be better as a nickname. It was almost Barbie IIRC, and they didn’t think that was right. She also has said on more than one occasion that she came in during the transition and Monty didn’t hire her, but ended up liking her. So Scotty and his friend must have been talking about her. This episode was fascinating. I am so happy it was shared. I can absolutely see why the show was in trouble. It’s lifeless and old fashioned as far as dialogue and some of the staging. Monty herself said she threw those episodes out, so that makes me think they were even worse. Which really made sense to me watching this because I only saw a glimpse of Monty in the less static scene with Rick moving all around while talking to David and the same type of staging with Scotty, Laura, and his friend’s name I cannot remember right now. That long ass scene through Monica’s eyes was very old fashioned as far as style. I can also see why the ratings started rising relatively quickly. Most of the earliest Monty shows I have seen are a few months later, and the show is very different. It moves, the characters are more intense, the staging has movement, and it feels more modern for the time. By the time you get to 1979 it’s really rocking and I totally get it in a way I didn’t before just from seeing this. Genie was so young to play that story with creepy Hamilton. And Kin sure was cute as nice guy Scotty.
    • Kate previously shadow directed or directed some scenes? on Days before GH, so it's been a passion of hers for a bit.
