Noir, indeed. There are some great films on that list there. And they all have a fairly common thread in them, too - people who are in over their heads when something big happens around them and usually involving a crime syndicate of some sort. Looks like this could be where (casting spoiler and speculation ahead)

Can't wait to see what they have in store for Tracy and Luke. And holy cow, just CANNOT wait for Dec. 23 - Monica was great the last two days, and I really REALLY can't wait to see LC and SD interacting together again onscreen.

Thank you for putting that together, Star. I know the theme was there but it's been awhile since I've watched some of them and others not at all. The hospital is a big part too, but Guza has promised everyone is involved, so we're basically getting a 3 months sweeps. I hope it's worth his bluster.

OMG! THANK YOU SO MUCH Stargazer!! You are my hero of the day!

Yes, Hooked, I am SO freaking! I LOVE Hugo!!!! and yes I am MIA :o I skim the thread though and I scope out Halee's awesome youtubeness :D

Lady Ashton is having a snow day today....no work for me due to the major snowstorm...already 5-6 inches here and more to come. It isn't technically winter yet and I am already sick of it

Oh, you can tell winter is back.... my weather network of Ms. Q and Lady A is kicking in nicely. Toronto is so huge that they are watching the storm track across the city via traffic cameras. 6 inches already, eh? Kids are going to love that when it's finished. A few weeks ago they were predicting a green Christmas. Guess we don't have to worry about that - now we just have to worry about getting to church.

WOW, Environment Canada is saying 2-4 cm an hour, with up to 25-30 expected when it's over, with snow squalls expected off of Lake Ontario.

I'm not seeing any spoilers that are fresh, and someone on SD pointed out that with Prospect on Christmas Break, we probably aren't going to get any legit spoilers. Hooked, you picked a good time to be away.

Flurries have started now in the East End (where I am) and you can smell the snow in the air. Days like this are why I homeschool. B)

Blizzard???? That's so lame..... but then perhaps all the movie themes are lame and someone was just bored. I guess time will tell.

Have a good trip, Hooked. I'll email spoilers and recaps, but I think with the studio being on vacation there won't be much by way of real information until after you return.

Today was so beautiful....

baby%20crying.jpg

Seriously..... Have your hankies ready....

Emma meets Grandpa Scorpio

Robin asks Robert to give her away

Anna and Robert talk about how Robin used to look just like Emma

Robert tells Robin how wonderful she is

Jax comes to give Morgan a present

Carly remembers a happier Christmas, and we had flashbacks of CarSon with Michael and Morgan

Carly calls Sonny to see Morgan

Alexis tells Sam she matters and to will herself to live (Sam's visions)

And the only thing that suggests Guza had anything to do with the show is Sasha died in Jason's arms (he didn't shoot her).

I would follow Lady A's forecast. They were calling for a huge winter storm here yesterday afternoon through this afternoon. And what was supposed to start at 3 was moved to 5, and that was moved to 7. Then 8, then 9:15, then 9:45, and I have no idea when it started 'cause I fell asleep. We had freezing rain later on (I heard it). And what was said to be 6-9 inches of snow was changed to 3-5 and ended up being 1. Anyway, that's probably more than you cared to know.

Anything new happening in the Tracy world?

Tracy World.... no, but I keep looking.

My world - we got 10-20 cm depending on the drifts, but it's not as cold or windy as it was. The forecast for us is one storm every other day until Christmas (you getting this too, Lady A?). Now they're saying we could have 80 cm by the end of December. I tap out my enthusiasm at 40 cm, so we shall see.

    • I am so happy now. Reminds me of the 80s show I loved. Ron really did the cast and fans dirty. The only people complaining are those who only knew Ron and his whiplash plot driven stories
    • 1985/86 wrapped up during the weeks of May 12-18, 1986 and May 19-25, 1986. Here's how the sophomore slaughterer, sophomore surprise, and the four soaps wrapped up the season. The Cosby Show - Denise's Decision (season 2 finale, May 15, rating 31.8, #1): Denise's decision about what college she will attend becomes complicated when Cliff and his father give their advice. Dallas - Blast from the Past (season 9 finale, May 16, rating 24.9, 3rd): The joy surrounding Pam and Mark's wedding day fades as J.R.'s attempt to outwit Angelica puts Jack and Sue Ellen in danger. Pam awakens to a surprise in her shower. Murder, She Wrote - If the Frame Fits (season 2 finale, May 18, rating 21.7, 6th): Jessica is spending her holidays with an old friend, Lloyd Marcus. His daughter is found murdered in her house and her husband Donald becomes the prime suspect. Dynasty - The Triple-Cross (May 14, rating 20.5, 9th): Ben gains control of the contracts in the South China Sea after tarnishing Blake's reputation. Steven is stopped in his attempt to reveal Adam's secret. Sammy Jo and Clay have a romantic evening. Knots Landing - The Longest Night (season 7 finale, May 15, rating 20.0, 10th): Karen vanishes after closing Lotus Point. Val sees Cathy and Ben together. Tipsy Peter visits Abby. Gary finds Val on the beach. Falcon Crest - Captive Hearts (May 16, rating 18.8, 12th): Chase is shot during Maggie's escape. Angela sends Lance to break up Melissa and Eric. Jordan is arrested. Emma advises Li-Ying. Dynasty - The Vendetta (season 6 finale, May 21): Alexis plans the ultimate revenge on Blake. Claudia is trapped behind the flames when she sets her room on fire. Sammy Jo and Amanda fight for Clay's attention. Blake learns about Ben's acquisition. Falcon Crest - The Cataclysm (season 5 finale, May 22): Chase fights for life. Jeff takes Greg and Jordan hostage. A huge earthquake strikes.
    • Source for this? Especially since Benz was already on AMC as Linda Connor.

    • @soapfan770 1995/96 to 1999/2000 were not very good in primetime. CBS and ABC both had primetime mess eras, and that's how NBC got away with their Thursday garbage shows finishing in the Top 10. Remember too that ABC was sold to Disney in 1996.  As for ABC primetime mess era, it started with the Top 10 fallout of Roseanne and ended with the breakout success of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Monday Night Football and Home Improvement pretty much kept ABC alive in that era.
    • This show is miles better under the new writers. It's really a condemnation of Carlivati, because he had the characters and history to write good soap. Instead, he turned it into a joke and a farce. I've heard some people says DAYS is now "too talky." Miss me with that stupid analysis.
    • I always wondered if Jackie wasn't going to be recast after being persumed dead... if Marland was going to pair Evie and Justin as a couple reunited in grief over Jackie's death. The one consistent thing I noticed about Evie during those months she was still on the show was that she was kind of a second mother to Phillip after Jackie's 'death' and Elizabeth no longer on the canvas.   But then one of the three interim writer teams decided to pair up Helena with Justin.. which left Evie even less to do than she had at the start of 1983. You're right that Evie was a unique character on the soap.  She was sweet and trusting, yet she had a quiet strength that made it difficult to push her around (at least when the Dobson's were writing her).  The Ben/Amanda/Eve triangle was an interesting triangle because neither of the women were evil... and Ben did have chemistry and a connection with both women.   It had a pretty decent run from 1978/9 to 1982 before Amanda was spun off into her mother's new marriage to Mark as the other woman.
    • Lots of fast-forwarding in today's episode. The best parts were the Lulu and Tracy scenes and Chase in the tank top. And once again, a horrible cliffhanger with Sonny.
