It could all look different once post-production is final or if it’s run under some type of filter then. We’ll have to see when the show premieres.

In addition to hair and makeup, lighting is incredibly important on a show made up of actors of colour. A lot shows have long misunderstood that unfortunately.

You incorrectly assume here that my use of the word b*tching is somehow a criticism of people offering constructive criticism. I assure it is not. It's a perfectly good word. And, I literally used it about myself. Although it is true that one could make an inference. To sum up, I do see people bit*hing about the way the program is lit but I happen to think it's justified.

🙄😉🥴😵‍💫🙊🙉🙈

I didn't assume anything incorrectly. You came in after some of us expressed our dislike of the lighting with the phrase "I will not b-tch about it". Which left the implication that maybe you are referring to what we are doing... as BITCHING about it. You may have not meant for it to sound that way, but it did. I don't like that word when I've only given my constructive criticism. There have been other people b-tching about the show for months and finding faults where there aren't any. This time, I saw something that I didn't like and I said it.  I'll continue to do so. I repeat - I love the trailer, I think we have the making of a great soap... and just because I WANT IT TO SUCCEED, I CARE about things like that. If I didn't care... I wouldn't mind.

I hope so and I agree with this 100000 percent.

I also think this is why they're erring on the side of caution from adding too many shadows within the serial's final look. Because, in some of those darker-lit shots, it's a bit... too dark of view.

I am sorry that we have vastly different feelings about the verb to b*tch. I like the word. You seem not to. I offended you. That was not my intent. Sorry.

Also I bet you don't know what lighting under Paul Rauch at GL was like.

I wouldn't say I'm offended. Just correcting false impressions. But you are forgiven if you need my forgiveness.

I hope you don't bet much, because you'll lose. I KNOW what the lighting was. I've seen episodes from his era. 😂

It was like the entire production (including actors) was dipped in Vaseline, and then pushed into sets lit like your nearest Costco warehouse. Way too many blondes running around in pastel colors for a while too.

Luckily, wardrobe, hair, and makeup seem to be on point for BTG.

Yes, they absolutely are. I have no second thought about it.

Lookin' good!

And no, while the show is bright it is nowhere near Rauch's GL. My eyes bled back then.

Someone mentioned the PP soaps and I do think they had the lighting down. OLTL in particular had a lot of dark or shadow and atmospheric lighting or warmer/darker tones in furniture and sets, which was good for the renewed contrast between it and AMC. But I'm not seeing anything egregious here yet.

'Twas I, @Vee😉😇 I'm just happy to see colour in the sets; we're avoiding HGTV blue/grey hues, altogether. 🤣🤣

I never bet! Apparently I'm on the right track.

Well, you just did. You said "I bet you don't know " So you lost that bet.

👊👍🫰✌️👏🤣🤣  Brilliance.

Although there were other uniforms for the women that I disliked MUCH more than the pastels.

And, yes, Reva, Cassie, Beth, Lizzie, Blake were all blondes but Olivia & Natalia were not. Oh, hell, Tammy & Doris & Daisy & okay, I concede. Too many blondes. Harley! Lucy. SURRENDER.

Riiiight. Which is why I said I was on the right track because I VERY rarely bet. ....
