I think the time till premiere is perfect. I will enjoy my last days in my 20s... and get BTG as a birthday present to soothe my 30 year old soul. What more can I desire?

I still think CBS should have given the show the slot right about Y&R and bumped The Bland & the Boring to the 1:30 slot. That would have sandwiched the show right between their two current soaps, and the lead in from Y&R would help.

I feel like B&B isn't even trying anymore, and they definitely refuse to tell 2024 appropriate storylines. Instead, let's just do Ridge/Brooke/Taylor for the millionth time and bring in another bland Forrester character. Little, if any, diversity and no forward-thinking stories.

I don't mind them filming ahead. That's fine as long as you have competent people running your show. I know the UK soaps and Neighbours are all months ahead and these shows are not only better than our soaps, but much more ambitious.

We still need to take into account a holiday break which could be 1-2 weeks and also Michele mentioned interior and exterior filming. We know this studio has the capability for regular location shooting so it's possible that's whats happening. If that's the case, that could also impact how far ahead we think they are.

I’m glad they have 3+ months to actually promote the damn thing. I suppose it’s smart to use Black History Month in part to build broader awareness (and celebrate this milestone on daytime) instead of starting in early February. The Grammys are on February 2.

Morris Chestnut’s Watson premieres Sunday, January 26, on CBS after the AFC Championship Game, a month-out promotional opportunity (a primetime premiere with a Black lead after one of the biggest NFL games of the season).

No to Clifton's shirt! He is looking good, allowing for the usual touching up of pics.

I agree they might be about 8 weeks ahead by premiere date. I'm sure extra production  time is being  allowed to bring it all together.

And the taping schedule might not be the traditional 1 episode a day.

Looking forward to more teasers being posted. Late Feb seems a long way away.

Being able to tape ahead helps when many in the cast don't permanently live in the Atlanta area. As such, they don't have to worry about being too close to air dates in case talent has to miss a tape date due to unforeseen circumstances. I'm okay with this.

Y&R and B&B were about 4-5 weeks ahead. Each show shut down production in mid-March 2020 and aired their final all-new pre-pandemic episodes on Thursday, April 24, 2020. Meanwhile, GH, which also shut down production mid-March 2020, aired all-new pre-pandemic episodes until the end of May 2020, albeit they didn't air fresh episodes on Fridays.  B&B returned to production in mid-to-late June 2020, with GH and Y&R following soon after. DAYS returned to production in September 2020, I think. B&B was back with new episodes in mid-July, followed by GH and then Y&R in early-to-mid August 2020.

DAYS at the time was 6-7 months ahead, having shut down production around the same time as the other soaps and aired original pre-pandemic episodes until early October 2020. DAYS went from about 1-2 months ahead during pandemic to its current 8-9 months rather quickly.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
