I know that for his movies he pays well, especially for the leads, but I'd assume that his on-going tv series works on a different budget (hence the ridiculous shooting schedule). Then again, he uses a lot of non-union talent and perhaps the quick shooting schedule makes up for comparatively small per episode pay especially if they're not based somewhere crazy expensive like Los Angeles.

There are a bit of stories out there about actors not liking his rapid shooting schedule (no surprise) and at least in his TBS days there seemed to be a conflict with actors wanting to triple their pay (to a $1000 per episode!) and get food service on set. But maybe he's changed since then...

Our girl VANESSA MCBRIDE

This gal is the mother of twins and a high-luxury real estate business owner in a loveless marriage. But I remember when she was being called "Stacy". She was no longer in love or intimate with her husband (her husband was described as feeling the same way about her), but she was still getting her "jollies" elsewhere. Sounds kind of "loosey goosey" to me but miss Vanessa might prove to be quite an interesting character more than we know. I also assume her husband will be on recurring status.

I am listening to a podcast that said that going forward, as a result of this election, much of the programming will be directed to “flyover country” (her words, not mine) so I now have to think about how this may impact BTG.

And some will say “You see, it was a bad idea to center the political world on a daytime soap!” To that I say, it hardly matters at this point. Any show centering Black characters, particularly in the daytime, on a major network, especially one that leans conservative, is likely to try to put some curbs on full creative freedom.

I don’t trust CBS. I don’t trust any network but having been raised watching CBS daytime, I really don’t trust them.

At this point... I lack trust too. They better not touch our BTG. This will freaking devastate me if they ruin this too somehow because of what happened.

So the bottom line, based on these responses, is that this show is doomed to failure before it even receives five minutes worth of airtime? I will absolutely hate for all of the enthusiasm garnered to have been for naught.

    • Sami's Three Stooges stole the show today

I enjoyed their individual scenes with other characters before they all came together at the Pub to commiserate over their relationships with Sami. I thought that was broken down pretty well. I just wish it had gone on a little longer. And I actually found it kinda funny too lol it seemed more mature than what we're used to. That's the kind of humor that should be on a soap. But I'm not really sure about all this talk of Dante Vitali and Sami's engagement though, especially since it doesn't look like Ali Sweeney is coming back anytime soon. What's the point of it all if we're (probably) not going to see it? It also looked like today was the first round of Brady vs. Xander as well lol I enjoyed their fight, and I'm interested in seeing this storyline play out. Even though I'm sure that Sarah will ultimately go back to Xander in the end, I'd like to see what happens along the way, and how they and everyone around them are affected by this. Btw, Theo and Jada? Idk. I still think he had the most chemistry with Arianna. And he was a bit of a dick too. It also seemed a little out of character for Jada to be so OK with him being such a dick  And though Alex and Stephanie were very boring again and need much better conflict than this book stuff, I am interested in the mystery of who's targeting Alex.  And yeah, I know this is a nitpick, but why is the Square still open after the gala? Isn't it supposed to be really late at night?
    • In fairness, Hillary and Bob Woods were thick as thieves again at least by the end of OLTL. But both she and I believe Mark Derwin not so subtly dissed Kale Browne in the oral history, lol.

    • Frat Boy Jr.'s reaction to seeing Luna was just awful acting. It was so bad that I started laughing.

Does anyone have screenshots of it?
    • Geez, I hadn't heard that Doctors story. HBS really did go through it.
    • No offense to the actors involved, but dear God in heaven: I don't know HOW viewers managed to get through that storyline with Maggie, Frank, Cal and baby Jill without running into oncoming traffic.  Then, to make matters worse, they dragged poor Diana into the mess!  I don't care WHO gets that damn baby!  Just wrap it up and move ON already!
    • Poor HBS.  To have to put up with Stephen Burleigh, who stuck his knee between her legs while rehearsing a love scene on THE DOCTORS, then told the director that's what he did with his wife; Kincaid, who had more hair on his chest and upper lip than Koko the Gorilla; Kale Browne, who taped his lines all over the OLTL studio floor, because he couldn't ever be bothered to [!@#$%^&*] memorize them; and Robert S. Woods, who apparently thought it was still 1979 and that he was still smolderingly sexy, so why should Bo Buchanan be stuck being in a happy marriage with Nora?  After all that, no wonder she jumped at the chance to play a lesbian on VENICE, lol.
    • @Maxim Thank you for the mini-review and clip from several pages ago. I appreciate you using the Bo/Alex clip as them meeting again by this point was a real surprise to me. The scene has some layers, getting a glimpse of Alex genuinely wanting the best for Bo rather than gloating. I was disappointed it ended with Tina dragging her out of the room for some much less interesting sparring (I did enjoy Alex pointing out just how quickly Tina got over Cord).
