When you say that it absolutely rings a bell.  I'll be honest, I haven't really kept track of Alexis since 2003 and I don't even dislike her lol.   I just think that was the last time she was relevant besides birthing Molly, but I'd argue that wasn't even that relevant.

Alexis has not had a relevant story IMO since well before Julian died, which was her last shot at real relevance after many years on the backburner or with C-tier stuff. (I didn't like the pairing with Julian either, and you could tell exactly the moment when NLG soured on it too lol) If they can make her interesting again, go for it.

Frank (allegedly) tried for years to fire WDV but couldn't supposedly because the fanbase caught the network or Nathan Varni's notice, I've no idea which. The story where Julian goes nuts and tries to kill Alexis with the dagger that killed her mother was supposed to be his exit, I believe. Then he somehow hung around for another 3-4 years as they tried to put him with Tamara Braun and turn him into Gentle Brewpub Julian. You could tell that after that dagger shít NLG was pretty much over it and kept her comments about their possible 'reunion' real muted from then on lol.

When The Hook attacks started I thought that it was Esme, but then she showed up pregnant and with the story of the friendly fisherman taking her to Canada. Then I thought of the ADA. When Heather appeared they started dropping hints right away that she was The Hook.

Nope.  Diane's 10 years past her expiration date in a variety of ways.  Can't stand her.

But didn't WDV and Julexis have a pretty strong or at least vocal following?  Like obsessive following?  I remember hearing so much about the pairing online and I always felt I was missing something.

Yeah, that's what kept him alive. Against FV's exasperated objections lol. A small but vocal fanbase, and vocal was good enough in those lean years. Allegedly even RC had intended Julian to be ultimately short-term, but who knows.

I think William deVry is one weird dude onscreen and off and his desperate midlife crisis social media thirst trap antics endlessly amused me. It was also clear his strange Interviews and Twitter, etc. drove FV up the wall which was funny. That's as far as I go with that guy lol. Did I think metrosexual, constantly horny on main mobster Julian was amusing? Sure. Did I ever take him seriously as a major player or with Alexis, not really. I remember sort of blacking out during the scenes where he and Alexis roleplayed that he was the Metro Court room service man she was seducing. Valentin is the same sort of dude for me.

    • A--I wish someone would post a better vid of the entire ball, as it must be out there. And B--nope. Evie is only in a small segment of the ball with Phillip, Rick and Mindy. She doesn't dance at all. Ross dances with Helena and Amanda. I'm not even sure why Evie is at the ball---Vanessa heartily disliked her. I did see that Billy actually asked Henry to introduce him to Vanessa, which I hadn't realized.
    • Honestly, they should've ordered more of 2000 Malibu Road for the 1992-93 midseason and aired it when Knots went on a break. That was probably their best shot.    Then of course they fumbled Central Park West by airing it in the 9PM slot instead of a 10PM slot where it would've been away from the Fox dramas. CPW got its best rating by airing randomly on a Sunday and when it was taken off the air for a "re-tooling", Party of Five's ratings actually had a spike, so clearly they were feeding off each other. But being a smaller network focused on a certain demographic, Fox could afford to be patient Party of Five, CBS couldn't...
    • Agree on Bruce Gray as Owen; they needed to cast star power. He was too lightweight against Kim and he had no chemistry with Frances Fischer except more gay buddy or daddy figure.  I loved Nola and Eliot together though. Lee Godart should have been longer term.
    • Andre has the worst fashion of the males which is off putting for someone as fine as he is. His jackets and sweaters look dated and no vintage does not work for him
    • I don’t recall MSW having a toy line in the late 80’s or early 90’s like all those Saturday morning cartoons did LOL but thought this was cute when I saw it in a vintage toy store yesterday:

    • Copying and pasting pasting this here as to not to derail the KL thread lol Wow I forgot CBS actually did try multiple attempts to come up with a soapy replacement for Knots on Thursday nights in the 10/9 slots for the 93-94 season.   Angel Falls had promise but CBS didn’t give it a fair chance. Latham’s Second Chances got even worse ratings than Angel Falls and wasn’t given a second chance when the Northridge quake destroyed the show’s sets. One West Waikiki looked gorgeous but was a blink you missed it affair. Finally we got Hotel Malibu, a quasi follow-up to Second Chances that stayed as the summer replacement series it was. CBS switched gears and had Chicago Hope air in the slot…against ER. It made the Top 30 but obviously underperformed below expectations. CBS gave up, and gave us 48 Hours for years there. It wasn’t until the 2002-03 season when CBS finally produced a Top 20 show for that spot with Without A Trace against an aging ER.
    • Of course I join in on wishing that Peacock & Corday & Sony would all together come to the conclusion that NOW would be a fine time to put some of these gems in the archive on full display!!! But, at the same time I'd like to give kudos to the fact that behind the scenes they've been doing the great work of preservation by taking tapes, etc. & converting them to modern digital formats. Besides the important fact of preserving them it means they are ready to go!
