One Life has been all that I want my soap to be, tons of drama and dispair. I agree Todd's execution will be a mixed bag of emotions for all. I love it. Wonder what will become of our lovely Margaret? All the stories are hitting a nerve and that's what good writing is about. After watching this soap for 30 something years I'm totally enjoying almost everything about it.

Oh I think that a lot of folks are very happy with the show. The internet has big eyes and we see everything, like yesterday, I saw the end of that nonsense over yonder. Some people have nothing better to do but complain about the writers yet they still watch everyday. Believe me if I didn't like something I wouldn't keep doing it. TPTB consider any talk is good talk. You know the saying when people stop talking then; something is wrong. I like what I like and I don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks. I love my soaps to be filled with drama, cheating, unforbidden love, crazy people, hysterics and lust all the stuff soaps are made of. It's fiction; no one ever stays happy on soaps. Actors come and go all the time, what's the big deal? Change is good. These fanatics want happily ever after. TPTB are in this business for a reason to make money they don't care what a few complainers think. JMO

I love OLTL... just currently its left more to be desired. But glad alot of you are enjoying it :) I've watched OLTL off and on as long as I have watched AMC. They possess one of the most talented (and underrated) casts in daytime. Long Live Llanview.

    • Okay I can buy that when Brook Lynn was a teen.  Now she knows the child is a boy one would think she'd be slightly suspicious.  Then again, Gio looks nothing like either of them so maybe not lol.
    • I've been behind & just got caught up & the last 3 days were amazing!
    • Yeah.  The hot, poor bad boy with a chip on his shoulder but with a heart of gold was a common soap trope in the 80s

    • That's been an issue with me... the lack of a cohesive 'Have Not' crowd that has focus other than Leslie/Eva.   I would beef up Jan, Mona, Laura, Joey, and few other male characters.. and not just be out to overthrow the Duprees.. but co-existing and broadening the scope of the show since the show is called Beyond the Gates. I think the set up the show has with everything revolving around the Duprees will become predictable especially if they always win.   It would be like Victor Newman on Y & R for 40+ years.. always winning, hardly ever losing.   With MVJ/Guza.. both trained under that mindset... I fear that will happen.   I've always heard from a performer that is playing a character like Leslie/Dana that you have to find the victim/hurt beneath the surface in order to play a villain/villainess... and I think that's why I enjoy watching her.. because she brings so much more to the part than what the writers put on the page.
    • I figure that was really hard for Dom to do. I completely GET why they wrote it the way they did but I wonder if it was necessary. Meanwhile I have 2 really icky ideas in my head. Drew is going to blame Tracy KNOWING it was not her. Dante is going to blame Lulu.  After that, everyone else is going to be mad at Lois.  Tracy is going to double down on wanting to get rid of Sonny. Sonny's going to be more dug in to stay because he now has a new descendant.
    • I can actually buy Brook Lynn being so self-absorbed and incurious that she never thought to question why her mom and grandma were so attached to Gio.
    • It was overkill and the whole narrative Lois was too nice to the orphan kid when he was little, WHAT? Like Emma said no one thinks Gio is a troublemaker that gets 14-year-old kids drunk for fun. That being said, Lulu figured this Gio thing out in episode, but Brook Lynn never once questioned Lois and Gloria's attachment to a child that was the same age as the baby she gave up?  Ever?
    • Thanks for finding that. I may have been thinking of this blog entry.
