Most of the RH shows have an element of Survivor to them, with newbies (and OGs) undergoing a trial by fire within the group. Weirdly, as toxic as NJ could get, its group battles usually felt the most organic and grounded in that North Jersey suburban world. BH has gone full scripted game-show with these eerily silent dinners where overdressed participants stare down each other, until someone summons up the courage to go in on the chosen target and break them repeatedly. It's full-on creepy, and the forced hugging after is fake AF, heals no wounds and resolves nothing. The Coven will remain The Coven and Garcelle has absolutely not been embraced by the clique (not that I would ever want her in that seventh circle of hell).
Besides the obvious platform of the show itself, I have to wonder what the upshot is when you count Kyle, Terry, Rinna, Dorit, Erika as your 'besties.'
What I really don't understand is, the other month they had this scene where Brooke made a sudden PR move to declare herself and Ridge co-CEOs of FC. Whatever happened to that idea? Did they just drop it? Because a FC power struggle would have pitted Steffy and Brooke against each other in a major way (even though it was introduced in a way that made no sense whatsoever).
As Alexis,Joan had a signature role that embedded her in the television annals after years of movie and TV work and she was savvy enough to know that it was as much Alexis as it was Joan the public loved.
So every role thereafter had a little (or a lot) of Alexis in it .
She wasn't going to take over the role of Bea Reardon...
