Soccer on CBS during soap slots in USA western timeslots.
 
February 2023 (and probably March also)
the "UEFA Champions League" (European soccer tournament)
will air on CBS broadcast television.

Tues. Feb. 14, Wed. Feb. 15 – airs on both CBS broadcast TV and Paramount Plus.
Tues. Feb. 21, Wed. Feb. 22 – airs on both CBS broadcast TV and Paramount Plus.
These dates are all "Round of 16, First Leg" of the tournament.

Tues. March 7, Wed. March 8 – airs on both CBS broadcast TV and Paramount Plus.
These dates are "Round of 16, Second Leg" of the tournament.

This impacts CBS soaps (but not in all timezones) and only in the USA.
In some markets Y&R will be affected, in some B&B, in some both soaps.
This affects the Mountain, Pacific, Alaska, and Hawaii timezones.

Canada is unaffected. Y&R and B&B will air on Global and CTV at normal times in all Canada timezones.

This is similar to what happened in February and March of 2022.
No announcement from the soaps.  We learned about it only by seeing the listings in the cable guide, and then verifying what was happening.

In 2022, a few dates in April were also affected. We'll see what happens in 2023.

^ I'm really glad the ratings for soccer have been pretty horrific - like under 900K per match and 300K for demo in Feb and March! No idea why CBS, which is not a traditional soccer network, would pay for the rights to games that aren't of interest in US and air on weekday afternoon. I get airing these matching on Paramount+, but the main network is simply not the forum. You'd think CBS would've figured that out by now.

Right? It says ALOT their soaps do better than soccer. Maybe it's a multi year deal and they have to let it play out or something?
