Y&R isn't exactly known for discovering breakout talent and launching careers but there are a few "before they were stars" that might be mentioned during the 50th anniversary: Tom Selleck, David Hasselhoff, Shemar Moore, Eva Longoria.

Ricky & Isabella return seeking revenge on Paul & Christine. Ricky somehow survived by being shot by Paul.

Cameron Kirsten should be out of jail by now. He returns seeking revenge on Sharon & Nick in a similar way Matt Clark/Carter Mills tried to do.

Before Mariah was made a lesbian I envisioned a story where Cameron Kirsten seduced and manipulated her as revenge against Sharon. The fact that he's still alive and they haven't used him to generate story for Sharon is just absurd.

Is crazy how Isabella and Tricia just took a turn for the crazy.

Cameron, Grace and Amy can return for a story as a thowback to the Gen X clan from the 90s. Donna isn't serving a prupose on B&B so the actress would be good here. I'd love to Grace her get into a troubled marriage with Nick and raise hell for the Newman family. Maybe the marriage blows up with Nick cheating on her with Amy or something. Grace gets revenge by bringing Cameron back, Mariah kills him defending Sharon and there's a whole trial, Matt Clarke's lookalike cousin surfaces. Something.

Even though the actress no longer performs due to a medical condition, it would be nice to see Tricia return as a ghost something for just a scene.

Monday March 27, 2023, Y&R 50th anniversary celebrated on a special episode of The Talk. If EB and Shemar are on that episode, we'd see Sheryl Underwood all squealing fangirl at a level that we've never seen before

I know Traci was planning a book on Dina-did that ever happen?

But I also recall she spoke of a Jabot/Abbott book-did that ever eventuate?

I'm getting the feeling Traci is a hack writer-using the family name to churn out cheapies.

There was also that film noir type novel that was'dramatized' a few years back with Cane.

Anyway the Jabot book would have been a good tie in with the 50th.

Some characters who could/should return

Murphy- to touch base with Jill/Esther and reminisce about Katherine

Joanna- to see Lauren and her grandchildren

Malcolm (Shemar)

Lorie

Any others you'd like to see?

Traci's Abbott family book was used as the backdrop for Peter Bergman's 30th anniversary special. I found that a bit disrespectful to the other Abbotts, especially since he's not even the original actor.

There's a good chance of getting back some of the Glow by Jabot kids - Brittany, Raul, J.T., and Mac (probably Kelly Krueger though, meh).

I'd rather see individual visits where we can get a few days of scenes like Michael Damian's, than cameo appearances like Leslie and Lorie have made.

I think you probably summed it up. It probably will have Eric, MTS, Peter, Michelle, Christel, MCE, Joshua, Sharon and Christel will probably be on there.

For the show's 45th? They had the Glow by Jabot Kids for the Walnut Grove reunion. But with you know who at the helm you may never know.

    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 (to get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with)
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
    • Nicole is way too smart to not know she was carrying twins - she's a doctor! My guess is that Leslie did abort her baby out of fear, and as payback, stole Ted and Nicole's child (Eva), and stole Kat from another family to replace her in the hospital.
    • Those Soap Central profiles have a lot of incorrect info. According to SOD summaries and the Daytime Newsletter of the time,Tim left town for a new job and Pam reunited with the father of her baby and also departed Springfield. They did not marry.
    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
