Sweet! I can’t believe she remembered she’s a singer.

Rihanna has so many hits.  I really do hope this means she’ll have a new album.  But it would kind of be funny if there’s isn’t one and the wait continues for her hardcore fan base.

Rihann's Superbowl show starts at about 10 minutes into this youtube.
This version is in American Sign Language and the signing artist is amazing.

Edit.  It was on the fox sports youtube channel but they had it up only as live stream, and then they took it down.  Glad I caught it.

Re: above twitter thread posted by @Faulkner about how, even though halftime performers are never paid, the exposure at the halftime show brings an artist music profits in the long run ...
That's interesting but ...

I just saw this video by Luisa Kroll of Forbes magazine.  She points out that Rihanna is a billionaire from her Fenty businesses. She said that when Forbes evaluated Rihanna's net worth, and income ....... the amount of money she's earned from music is negligible in comparison with her Fenty businesses.  To the point that they don't even bother to count her music income when evaluating her!

Her Fenty business is 50% owned by Rihanna and 50% owed by Bernard Arnault of LVMH.
(Luisa Kroll went off on a tangent to say that Bernard Arnault is the richest person on the planet.  And that Elon Musk was for a while but he isn't anymore and Arnault is again.  Just ignore that.)
The point is that Fenty is one of the most successful brands in the world.

The youtube is mistitled "Why Rihanna won't get paid for the half time show".
That title doesn't describe what's in the video.  The video says nobody gets paid for the halftime show, and for her, it wouldn't matter because she's so rich anyhow.

Kroll from Forbes said that Rihanna is the first billionaire to perform in the halftime show.  She added that the halftime shows are produced by Jay-Z's business, and *he* is a billionaire.  But Rihanna is the first person already a billionaire to perform in the halftime show.

Her cosmetics business and other Fenty businesses are one of the most successful luxury brands in the world.

Did you notice that Rihanna stopped for a second in the middle of her halftime set to refresh her makeup?  That was about business and promoting her cosmetics line, LOL.

Here's the Forbes video:

    • Surely you are exaggerating-there must have been several mentions of Abbott Communications.
    • I thought she started to deal with medical issues that ultimately caused her death in 1994? Not sure but I thought I had read that she battled illness for quite a few years. Perhaps it started when she decided to leave the show? She was so fantastic. I will say that she and David Forsyth worked so well together; it was the only reason I watched Mayer's five months of storylines.  Thanks for posting all these SFT episodes. Boy, the Nicholson/Mayer time was a mess of some positives but mostly negative. I wonder if Mayer was hired by Ellen Barrett (or if P&G tried to get Labine and Mayer although I doubt the budget would have allowed for both) then she was let go for some reason; and/or if Erwin had months left on his contract with P&G after EON was cancelled and they placed him there before he retired. Losing Sheri then Lisa Peluso was the death knell for this struggling show. Mayer's circus story was inane.  Casting Michelle Joyner big miss; she was awful as was (and always after) John Loprieno. I don't know how that guy stayed employed on soaps for so many years. The positives were Joe Lambie, Lee Godart.  Louann Gideon was lovely but completely miscast as Liza.  Mayer fired four scriptwriters, only keeping Nancy Williams who went on to great work at GL for a decade then Passions.

Not her getting sad over the Febreze!
    • Today when Anita and Vernon were talking about Bill, they referenced whatever mystery thing he covered up.  This time, with how they worded it, it seemed to be a cover-up about *them*.  So now I wonder if it was something else *in addition* to the Martin secret.
    • She really got to me today. She's doing a great job making Eva a character you just can't help but root for.

    • O'Connor was listed as both breakdown and scriptwriter this week in the few episodes I saw and he wrote one script this week.
