I've just watched the reveal episodes and Kimberlin has this ability to cast a dark shadow over her face...her expression totally changes and she inhabits this darkness. It's kind of incredible.

Krista Allen was really good in the moment where Taylor thunders "YOU KNEW!" to Sheila...considering she's a late in the character's run recast, she's got the character nailed down.

OMG! At the turnaround.

Friday cliffhangers aside, all the Sheila/Steffy/Finn stuff has been nicely paced (outside of trying to restart the Hope/Liam/Steffy triangle...ewww no). But Steffy remembering...oooooo JMW has really and truly been acting her a$% off and I've been loving it.

And it goes without saying that THIS TIME, Steffy played it smart and had backup. Cuz...SHEILA. And so far...I like that yep Sheila is trying to wiggle her way out of this confrontation with Steffy.

Meanwhile I love that as the main story is climaxing, the writers wisely started another story. Donna back with her Honey Bear. Who would have thought? I guess it shouldn't be surprising given Eric's own history and she has been pinning for a while. But...while Quinn is one to talk...you just know someone is going to get slapped. Or perhaps that will lead Quinn back to Carter. And NOW Paris wants to get insecure. Ooooo the possibilities.

That darkness was what made the scene. Kimberlin is able to make Sheila more scary than other soap opera psychos who come back repeatedly because she plays her as fearful a real deranged person would be. And I did notice that Krista was able to get into the character in away that makes it seem like she's been on the show much longer.

It’s odd to me that Eric only had one scene with Sheila, and still hasn’t been to see Steffy. I’m guessing yesterday was a wrap on Sheila’s latest return? Not sure if it was coincidental, but today makes 30 years since Sheila first arrived on B&B

As evil as Sheila is she did have Brooke's number when she called out Brooke as being pathetic. Throughout the entire situation Brooke has brought everything back to herself and Ridge. She took several digs at Taylor while Steffy was in the hospital.

This story would have been more effective had Steffy been the one to keep the secret as opposed to Thomas. That would have made for awkward conflict between her and Ridge while she is on the mend as well as her feeling some guilt over keeping the secret just to keep her parents together.  Steffy could have eventually felt wrong about keeping the secret and then confronted Sheila leading to the same outcome.

    • Interesting that Donald May has been mentioned twice. He's on my dreamcast list for Alan. He was somewhat older than Stewart and Bernau, but he could have played either role. An actor I thought about for Mike was Dan Hamilton. He played a role on GL during the 60s, but enough time had passed that it shouldn't have been a problem. He usually played smarmy characters but it would have been cool if they had gone against typecasting.
    • I like Jed Allan, it has to be someone who can play authority but "good" authority to oppose Alan's bad. As mentioned upthread, can you imagine how it would have been with Alan and Mike against each other, with Roger in the mix. But I would have had Roger, ever the opportunist to try to take advantage of their fighting to make his own headway.  Maybe that could have been the storyline, Mike involved with Alex, but the constant fighting with Alan causes a rift (she like Mike fighting Alan when it is to her advantage, but he can be a bit self righteous and I can see him demanding her to disavow Alan publicly..) so that is how Roger lands in her bed, much to the consternation of BOTH Alan and Mike. I would like to have a woman of a certain age being fought over by two men (really three if you count Alan.
    • Please let May have less garbage time. The Y&R threads have shrunken, whereas I can barely keep up with the Beyond the Gates threads.
    • The Liam cancer story was a failure from day one. It didn't start at point A but at a late point C. My aunt had brain cancer, and it isn't being told properly or correctly.
    • OMG, did Gio look good. Do not get me started on how good he looked. Lord. It's as if the writers realized Lulu had almost no scenes with her mother, so they wrote all this material for a 2-day Lulu/Laura therapy session. It was nice to see them connect, but I scratched my head yesterday when Lulu tried to connect her adoption story to Laura's life. That was a stretch to me, and I sign the writers were working overtime. Today, the script eventually got to the right place, but I thought it was overboard to see Lulu so worked up that she was near tears. That's investment in a story that's become an obsession.
    • Absolutely is.

    • I'm on record as being happy about the mature turn with these new writers, but that goes away every time I see Leo, who's apparently as big a favorite under these women as he was with RC. And yeah, Javi could work, but as long as he's with Leo, he sucks, too.
    • I find Javi so obnoxious and almost as insufferable as Leo, but I still think he might have potential.  The show needs to ditch the Leo romance and give Javi some other interests and relationships.
    • Leo is insufferable. Why is he still on this show?  Javi can leave too. He adds nothing to the show. So now Shawn is going to commit a crime?

      Everything Leo wears is ugly.
