Webmaster Errol Posted April 20, 2022 Webmaster Share Posted April 20, 2022 For the week of April 11-15, 2022, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” (3.068 million) ranked third in both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating, tied with “The Young and the Restless” (3.423 million) and “TODAY 3rd Hour” (1.981 million) in both demographics. “The View” (2.353 million) also tied for third place in Women 18-49 rating. Compared to its performance one week earlier, the half-hour soap was down -111,000 viewers week-to-week while losing the least amount of viewers across daytime broadcast compared to the show’s performance in 2020, down just -115,000 viewers. Both half hours of “Let’s Make a Deal” (2.517 million/2.912 million) gained viewers week-to-week, more than any other daytime broadcast series, with an average of +132,000 more viewers for each half-hour compared to one week earlier. “Days of our Lives” (1.664 million) added +73,000 week-to-week and “The Talk” (1.486 million) gained +57,000 viewers. Losing the least amount of viewers week-to-week was “General Hospital” (2.109 million), down just -8,000 viewers compared to one week earlier. Compared to its performance in 2020, “GH” is down -328,000 viewers, the second smallest drop across daytime broadcast, and behind only “B&B.” “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” (1.456 million) ranked last in Total Viewers, falling below both “The Talk” and “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.579 million). The third hour of “Good Morning America” tied “The Talk” for last place in Women 18-49, each with a 0.2 rating, and ranked last overall in Women 25-54 with a 0.3 rating in the demo. Since its 2020 debut, the series is down significantly from where it started, albeit its losses compared to two years earlier are nothing compared to the significant audience erosion experienced by both half hours of “The Price is Right” (4.064 million/4.611 million), the aforementioned “Let’s Make a Deal,” and both “TODAY 3rd Hour” and “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.” What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of April 11-15, 2022 in Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance in 2020 and 2021 (where available). A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance in the demos, will be posted soon. Notes: Starting with this week’s report, we will no longer be sharing unrounded figures for the Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 demographics. All data points, with the exception of Total Viewers, will be rounded up/down to the nearest tenth. Viewing levels were hitting multi-year highs in 2020 during the initial shutdown of the country due to COVID-19. Year-to-year comparisons (2022 vs 2021) among Households and Total Viewers are currently unavailable due to a gap in data being shared with Soap Opera Network one year earlier. Comparable 2020 figures for “GMA3: What Need to Know” are based on the performance of “Pandemic: What You Need to Know.” The current iteration was rebranded effective June 2020.
