It’d be interesting to see what storylines were occurring on the soaps at that time in 1991. Also highlights just what a hole AMCs cancellation left on the soap landscape. By all rights it should still be on air with the other four remaining.

In hindsignt all of them could still be on. The ratings the soaps were cancelled on are considered decent now

P&G likely had the "juice" to keep at least, a few of their soaps on the air but we pretty much know why they failed to do so.

when did Andy drive drunk and hit Lien with his car by accident? Do you remember when that happened? I think it was 1991, but what month?

DAYS

1/7/91-1/11/91: Adrienne and Justin made arrangements to move to Dallas after he decided to accept a job there. Roman realized Carrie needs a woman's influence in her life. Jennifer went to meet a mystery man who phoned and said he had information on Nick's murder, but the man split when he saw Frankie with Jennifer. Bo rushed Carly to the hospital after she was stabbed in the abdomen while Bo was struggling with the thug who attacked her. When Brian quizzed April about her whereabouts at the time of Emilio's death, Johnny lied he had been with April the entire evening. Brian broke a date with his fiancee to spend time with Melissa. Alice experienced dizzy spells but didn't tell anyone. Miss Peach returned in hopes of convincing Shane to accept a new ISA case. Jack rejected Jennifer's apology after she slapped him and called him a rapist. Jennifer couldn't bring herself to tell Jack about her rape.

JANUARY 7-11, 1991
The judge briefly sent Cass to jail on contempt charges after he lied that he had Vicky impersonate Marley to prove to the court the two could be mistaken for each other. Marley admitted to Michael that she ran away and that is why Vicky was impersonating her. Marley also told Michael she is afraid Vicky shot Jake after Marley admitted Jake's attack to her. After being hospitalized for exhaustion, Vicky was convinced Jake had come into her room and tried to smother her. Ryan and Jamie prevented Vicky from disconnecting Jake's life-support system to see if he was really in a coma. Vicky saw a mystery woman exit Jake's hospital room. Amanda was furious when Sam accused her of interfering in his relationship with Olivia. Jenna is getting closer to Matthew, but she and Felicia haven't come to terms yet.

Then the Bob/Susan affair must have started with a quickness soon after, as the affair was revealed in May!

I had wondered whether maybe Andy had been going to therapy for a few months, maybe gradually causing a rift between Bob and Kim but I see that the timeline was much more condensed.

The major stories for that week in January 1991 were the gaslighting of Lily and Angel overdosing on pills. All due to Angel's dad.

 

Andy was in therapy when Bob slept with Susan. The episode is on YouTube where Kim tells Andy in therapy and he blames himself for Bob cheating.

90s ATWT is not as clear for me as mid to late 80s, which still seems vivid in my memory.
