Scott’s book also addressed a rift with Victoria Rowell, who played Drucilla Winters. In a lawsuit against Sony Pictures Television and CBS, Rowell claimed she was subjected to “various racially charged attacks,” including Scott mocking her by wearing an oversized Afro wig. The case was dismissed in 2017.

Scott recalled things differently, writing that there was a carnival set built for a few episodes of the show. She and few other show members, bored and goofing around on the “out-of-the-ordinary” set, found a bin of clown wigs and tried them on. She said they were “just giggling, pretending to be clowns” when Rowell appeared and went on an “angry tirade.” Scott said Rowell “thought I was making a statement about her hair because of the multi-colored Afro wig I was wearing and accused me of being a racist because of it.”

Chadwick Boseman's full commencement address at Howard University in 2018
was 36 minutes long.  Kamala Harris retweeted this 8-minute segment

which is all about Chadwick was hired and fired on All My Children
for the role of Reggie Porter (the character later adopted by Jackson Montgomery).

Almost all of these 8 minutes are about racial representation on TV/film, using AMC as an example.

I won't try to sum up what he says -- just listen, he says it so eloquently.

Note that he mentions the lack of specificity.

fyi, he mentions that he hopes that his questions to the producers about stereotyping helped to change the way the character would be written for the Black actor who replaced him. (He doesn't give the actor's name in this speech, but we know that the Black actor who replaced him in the role was Michael B. Jordan).

Here is the entire commencement speech, which gives context to why he spoke about his AMC experience:

If you watch the whole youtube, there is more. he said he was sort of blackballed for a while because AMC had put out the word that he was "difficult".

No, it's perfectly fine. The Jordan/Boseman convo is a different item. I wasn't saying you shouldn't post the above, I just know there's more to that story around here somewhere.

    • I just read that Alice Halsey, the new young Rachel, has just landed the role of Laura Ingalls on the Netflix reboot of Little House on The Prairie. https://deadline.com/2025/05/little-house-on-the-prairie-laura-ingalls-cast-alice-halsey-1236383465/ Soooo...I don't see her remaining on Days for too long.
    • Jason, can you give me those dates, pretty please? If so, I'll do an edit of her. She was such a delight.
    • Sure, babe. I found those once when I was desperately searching for an Alexandra Spaulding dinner party date & I literally struck out everywhere else. We should throw a cyber party & invite Matt Smith & ChickenNuggetz* & whoever helps them with the Vault & Jason47 & Eddie Drueding ...
    • My late mom remembered Jordan Clarke as Tim Ryan.. and she said he was vastly different than Billy.  She also said she remembered that Rita and Evie were more tangled up with Tim when both came on the show.. while he ended up leaving with another character.   Then Rita was moved into the Ed/Holly orbit taking on the scheming traits of Holly (this was around the time of the original Holly leaving), and Evie got pulled into Ben's orbit.. but not sure if this was during his brief relationship with Hope or not.
    • Not Doug acting like people felt Dani might act during this Ted reveal.   Awww an Andre/Eva scene.    Oooo Silk Press Sheila and her crazy woman music.    MMmmmm...multiple cliffhangers!!!! Kat vs Eva. Nicole vs Ted.    Awww hell no!!! Not Silk Press Sheila confronting the Duprees. Anita might eat her alive. lol. And I was never so glad as to not see them. I was already annoyed at Vanessa/Doug interrupting the action. I actually might have felt a way about seeing them. For once. lol. I do think they were edited out though.   I mean...it's kinda hard NOT to look so      Ooooo I didn't think about that.
    • Rest in peace, Ruth Buzzi! Laugh In was before my time, but from the clips I have come across on YouTube, she was a very funny lady. Prayers to her loved ones.
    • First, Martin vs Ted. Now Kat vs Ted.
    • Team Silk Press Sheila!  I hope she topples the mighty Duprees because that family has it coming. The spoilers that were posted last week for today's episode had Ashley/Derek mentioned, but as we saw, they weren't featured at all.  Was that part of the spoiler a mistake, or did the show edit them out.    Nice to see a bit of Vanessa/Doug.. and I'm fascinated by Vanessa's perspective in regards to Dani/Bill's marriage vs Nicole/Ted's marriage. While this was a good episode, it does highlight that the show is lacking non-Dupree related characters.
    • Cry me a river! lol. Oh, Silk-Press.     Awwww no good night for Dani and Andre.    Uh oh. They are at the house. It's dark and Mona did let everyone off for the night...
