Per Kelly's tweet of August 8, she announced she had booked the Station 19 role. The Days episodes airing in the next few weeks were taped in mid-late August. She announced booking the Station 19 role during a dark week of Days, so perhaps Station 19 was only going to be one episode at first, but turned into 6, and so she chose to leave Days and stick with the primetime gig.
