It makes me so happy to see Genie at the top of the counts and to actually have stuff to do on the show.  

 

She hasn’t been as well used since Bob Guza’s first year in the show as HW.  She was the lead in both of the major stories he told with her that first year(Damian murder and Nikolas arriving).  After that she was second to Luke all the time, or just background.

 

I hope the Ryan story continues to get more twisted, and the ratings respond.

Maurice Benard missed the entire 1st week of October.  I went back a couple of years to see if he has ever missed that many episodes in a row, the most I found was 4.

Seeing Genie Francis on the top of the episode counts after being wrongly fired was certainly my personal highlight of the last few years of compiling these episode counts with jcar03. Such a win. Clearly she got a great episode guarantee in her new contract and I hope the momentum continues.

No lies here. Zzzzzzzzz. Lawd. I wish they'd move on from focusing on them all the time. None of them really "do" anything. They're just on. At least they seem to be trying to write for Carly. Sam and Jason need to ride off into the sunset. And Sonny can croak for all I care. EDIT: Actually scratch that. Boring ass Sam can croak too, Jason can stay.

And it is nice to see Genie leading and likely with a good episode guarantee. I don't know that I trust them to keep the momentum, so to speak, they jaded me big time by axing her during the Mayor story but we'll see if it continues. I hope it does. She deserves to be "THE" lead of the show. The Deidre Hall. The Susan Lucci. It never should have been The Anthony Geary+Maurice Benard, if you will. LOL

I know there was a shift with TPTB when she went on Maternity Leave and didn’t come back for over a year.  To me, that was when the stories stopped using her point of view and she became second to Tony and Luke.  

 

She is being used as she should be.  I’m sure she is being paid very well, so they might as well use her or not bring her back.
