Interesting. I loved these books as a child, and still enjoy re-reading them. I wasn't all that impressed with the recent movie adaptations, and still think that the best version I've seen is the old animated version from 1979.

My only concern is that they will try to adjust the books for an older audience. These are children's books after all, and I fear that they will concentrate too much on making them a light version of Game of Thrones.

Super excited...though I loved the movies.   But I love every production. I even heard that there's a theater troupe In Toronto I want to say that does the books in play form. Currently doing THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW. Next year they are doing  A HORSE AND HIS BOY. 

Anyone else grow up watching the BBC version?

Watched it, and liked it.

 

But I'm still waiting for the definitive version of the books. Maybe that's an impossible dream though.

Sure did. Even used the books to teach my brother how to read. So the series really does have a special place in my family...not to mention my heart.
