Looking on the bright side, though, I'm glad to see Tyler Perry is nowhere near this one. If he were, you know who would be in the cast and you know they'd change the title to "Tyler Perry's Madea's Roots," too.

I just wish this project wasn't coming into fruition. Some things are sacred and need to be left alone.

This has disaster written all over it. I guess the people to blame here is the estate of Alex Haley? Whoever gave to go ahead to this project was greedy or foolish or both. I remember when Roots aired initially and it was the biggest thing on TV. Every kid and teacher at schoo was watching, it was a rare time when a huge portion of the country had a simultaneous experience. The fact this will be airing on these fringe cable channels means no one will see this but maybe that wil be for the best.
