Schitt's Creek, TVGN's 1st Scripted Show

I love the title of this!

Fans of SCTV may like that it stars Eugene Levy & Catherine O'Hara. I think they're a good combination to bring the funny, hopefully the scripts will facilitate this.

For some reason, I jumped to the conclusion that TVGN would veer toward reality shows but I'm glad they are doing the unexpected and investing in a scripted series. Even though I don't even subscribe to cable, I hope the series is entertaining (I also hope they work out a deal for a secondary run on Netflix or Hulu when the season is over).

I'm really looking forward to Schitt's Creek, but TVGN, which is soon to be rebranded POP, didn't commission the show, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation commissioned it and TVGN bought the American rights to it at MIPCOM a few weeks ago.

Uuuum, am I missing something? Because this seems like it has the potential to be constantly thought of as "Sh!t's" Creek. ph34r.png

That's the point of the title.

LOL! They actually want that? laugh.png

Thanks!

Yeah they do!

The premise of the show is a rich family goes broke and the only asset they're left with is a town they once bought as a joke, the town of Schitt's Creek.

Wow, I am really looking forward to this. The Christopher Guest films are my absolute favorites, Levy and O'Hara are sure to be brilliant.

Up Schitt's Creek without a paddle, as the old saying goes...

So what you're saying is there is a chance for it to stream on Netflix then?laugh.png

Thanks for posting the trailer, I never even thought to look for one.

Hard to say about Netflix, CBC doesn't usually air it's shows online outside the CBC site and I don't know what POP's plans are. But maybe Netflix UK will do it if it doesn't get sold to a network?

This is the proper trailer!

Great Trailer, very funny!

I just recently watched an Australian miniseries produced by ABC (Australian Broadcasting Company) on Netflix so I wouldn't rule out the possibilities.

I also read Netflix is going to start carrying series from other countries. More from France. A lot of agreements can be worked out and it is lucrative for these nations' production companies once the show has had its seasonal run on broadcast TV. The BBC does this , Canal+ is beginning to do this and I forsee other broadcasters following suit.
