CBS STAFF ANNOUNCER BERN BENNETT PASSES AWAY...

I wanted to pass along the news that long-time CBS staff announcer Bern Bennett passed away on May 29, 2014 at the age of 92. Bennett's death had gone unreported on the web, but I noticed it today when perusing the death list posted in SAG-AFTRA's magazine, which posts many actor deaths unreported elsewhere. Bennett worked for CBS for over 60 years, including stints on the game show classics "Beat the Clock" and "To Tell the Truth" and soap fans will remember him as the announcer for "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful." That is so sad

RIP

It's ridiculous that his death wasn't announced when it happened. My only guess is the family wished to keep it private.
